Retro Sketches Challenge #26 and my toes...

Happy Friday! I am so excited to have a three day weekend...so much time to play with all of my wonderful stamps, I am really looking forward to this.  I'm getting my card for this week's Retro Sketch challenge just under the wire. It was been a crazy week and I just happy to say that I did get my card made and photographed.  I fell going up the stairs in my house and broke two toes on my left foot, the second and fourth to be exact.  My slippers were too big and I was also carrying a cup of coffee upstairs and I did not want to spill on the carpet so I was not too worried about my feet.  Needless to say that I did end up spilling a few drops of coffee and now I get to wear this high fashion shoe that I know all of you are very jealous of. Anyway, back to my card...I decided to keep with the Halloween theme for this card and use my new Spooky Sweets II dies and I was so happy to get it stamped right on my first try.  Thanks for taking a peek and I wish you a fabulous holiday weekend!

The 12 Kits of Christmas - August 2012 Edition

Happy August, happy end of summer, happy that school is starting again, so many things to be happy about. August is my month to be hostess for The 12 Kits of Christmas and I wanted to do something a little bit different for everyone to do. So instead of using the traditional colors for Christmas I decided to go pastel, soft pinks and blues with ivory and white. I was so excited when I found the patterned paper to use, it is Winterland by Fancy Pants Designs and as soon as I saw it back in the Spring I had to buy it, was afraid if I waited I would be out of stock. The next thing I did to be a bit different was to use digital images instead of stamped images.  I remembered a few months back when Joyce used digital paper for her kit and that is what gave me the idea.  I have been following this digital blog for some time and love all of the designs, just so fun and different and the digital paper prints so amazing, you would never know! The website is
Pink Petticoat and the owners name is Liz...Liz and her team are just so creative and have lots of free goodies too, that is how I got hooked! Anyway, be sure to check her site out, you will not be disappointed, I promise. Be sure to check out all the blogs that are listed below and see what amazing cards this incredible group of talented ladies has come up with.  Thank you so much for taking a peek!

CAS-ology #8 Relax

I am so excited that I got another card made last night and this one is for this week's challenge from
CAS-ology and this week's cue card is "Relax".  I knew I had at least two sets that would be perfect for this card but when I went to pull them out My Island jumped right into my hand! This set just screams relax with all of the palm trees, sunrise, beach hut and all of the amazing sentiments that coordinate with them.  When I think of what relax means to me, it if soft colors, kicking back in a comfortable lounge chair on a beach somewhere with my iPad and a very slight breeze off the ocean.  Thanks for taking a peek!

Papertrey Ink MIM #80 Making Garland

It has been a while since I have had the time to play with this challenge, Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday, always a fun challenge...I love learning new techniques and this week's was a fun one. Making your own garland, I took the time to watch Ashely's video and and learned a two new things, first one was the I need a stamp press, this has to be the coolest tool and really makes for stamping on your little dies almost perfect! The second thing I learned was to double cut your die and sandwich the baker's twine between the two dies.  Just too clever and I just love the way it all turned out. My card is pretty simple but I love the look of Mr. Sunshine peeking out behind the large cloud.  Thanks for taking a peek!

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #112

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge

Happy Sunday! Hope all you are having a wonderful weekend so far.  I finally got a chance to sit down and put a few cards together and my first card is for this week's Waltzingmouse sketch challenge. I was inspired by Renee's spider web and knew I had to make another Halloween card, I am just over the moon about all of WMS Halloween stamps, Wanda is just the best looking witch I have ever seen! One of my favorite stamps from Wanda's Pantry set is the witches brew stamp, I used that one and added a cauldron to so along side it.   I was trying to get another look so I decided to use some paper I had in my stash, more vampire looking.  So here you go and thank you all so much for taking a peek!

CAS-ology #7 and Blogaversary Winner

I have been a bit under the weather this week and had a difficult time just getting to the computer just to check my emails, but happy to say that I did manage to get one card made and that is for the fabulous challenge blog, CAS-ology...I am really loving their challenges and trying to remember to keep my card simple but still creative, not always an easy thing to do.  I am going to keep this post a bit short, put my feet up and watch the reminder of the Giants game, and by the way they are winning at this point 4-2 against the Braves....Thanks for taking a peek!

Now on to the winner from my Blogaversary post last week....thank you to all who posted comments and to all of you who are faithful readers and always leave me wonderful comments, you are the BEST! Now on to the winner....drum roll please or should I say random number generator please ( I tried to cut and paste the image but as most you know I am not very good and some of this computer stuff, so needless to say I could not figure that out), so here is the winning number....

Waltzingmouse August 2012 Blog Party

It's time for Waltzingmouse's August blog party and this month the theme is Birthday's...this was a fun card to make and I have to say a very quick one too.  I used some of my left over supplies from Renee's Four of a Kind kit...So many wonderful goodies to play with. I love the set that Renee used, Sewing Box and this star is just so sweet. I paired it with "you shine" and the birthday sentiment inside is "make a wish" goes with the star don't you think? I had to add a bit of bling too, to make the star sparkle a bit.  Thanks for taking a peek!

Four of a Kind - August 2012

It is that time again, time to post my cards for August's Four of a Kind. This is a fun month, lots to celebrate, so be sure to read everything. This month's hostess is Renee and when she puts a kit together, she just goes crazy, and I mean CRAZY!!! So many wonderful goodies to play with and still so many more to save to use another day for a little CASE'ing.  I am in love with the stamps she used, Sewing Box from Waltzingmouse and it is always more fun to get a kit using stamps and supplies that you don't already own.  There were enough supplies to make a dozen or more cards but I only have 5 to post, with 2 of them being "self assembling" cards, this always makes me happy! Here are my cards...thanks for taking a peek and again, be sure to keep reading for a bit of celebrating....

This month marks my one year anniversary of blogging.  I have to give credit where credit is due, if it weren't for some kind and gentle arm twisting by my friend Joyce, I don't know that I would have done it.  I had agreed to do this monthly challenge with Joyce, Cathy and Renee and needed a place to post these cards so that is how I got started.  I wanted to do as much on my own as possible, you see my sister is a computer nerd and I really did not want to ask for help, I wanted this to be my own little blog, a fun place to post my cards and do challenges.  So in celebration I have a surprise package with some wonderful items to use to make your own cards.  I will do a random drawing on Friday, August 24th and announce the winner.

Joyce is also celebrating her one year anniversary of blogging, so be sure to leave a comment on her blog as well, she has two wonderful prizes, a PTI Gift Certificate and a fun stamp set from Paper Smooches.

Be sure to head over to Renee and Cathy's blogs to leave some fabulous comments and check our their amazing cards.

Outside Lands 2012

I feel like it has been forever since I have posted something to my blog and viewing other blogs. My daughter Ashleigh and I spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Golden Gate Park at San Francisco's 5th annual Outside Lands rocking out to over 90 different bands with about 70,000 close and personal friends each day. There were 4 stages that played from noon until 10pm each day, some being about a mile apart (walking back and forth between the stages was a great way to walk off all the yummy food we ate)...so many people and just not enough time. We saw the Foo Fighters, Fun, Metallica, Stevie Wonder, Neil Young, Nora Jones, Jack White, Sigur Ros, Skrillex and so many more....just too much fun! Just wanted to share a few of the pictures from our fabulous 3 days! Thanks for taking a peek!

We were on the rail for the Foo Fighters on Friday...so close you could almost touch them and a great place to take pictures too.

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #109 - Witch's Brew

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge

It seems like it has been forever since I have had the time to make a card and post to my blog. Summer school is over and I am so excited to have some time off to play in my craft room and a few day trips too.  So for my first card I decided to make another Halloween card, I have been seeing lots of them on different blogs and have a few new Halloween sets from WMS so I thought it was time to break them in.  I purchased this ribbon from Britex Fabrics, they have the most amazing selection of ribbon, I even have a photo to show you so you can see why this place is just so amazing! As always the Waltzing Mouse Mischief Makers have some awesome cards to spark your creativity for this sketch challenge, so be sure to visit their site and see what they made with this amazing sketch.  Here is my card and thank you so much for taking a peek!
