The 12 Kits of Christmas - September Edition

Here we are at the end of another month...and that means only 3 months until Christmas and that is what we are doing with this monthly challenge, The 12 Kits of Christmas.  Our hostess this month is Kara
from K and R Designs and I am sure many of you have visited her blog before to see what incredible cards and projects that she has created. Her kit is just as amazing and with the soft color of Aqua Mist paired with Pure Poppy, Ivory and Kraft...just an amazing color combination for the holidays.

Unfortunately I was only able to finish up 2 cards from this kit but the bright side of that will be that I have plenty of goodies left over for CAS'ing what everyone else does!
Kara, thank you again for this amazing kit!

September 2012 Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

Blog-hop-logo

Can you believe it, we are almost to the end of September and it really feels like it just started! October will be here is less than a week, my favorite month of the year.  So in celebrating October just a bit early I decided to make my PTI Blog Hop project a Halloween one.  This month's theme is felt and fabric wrap challenge and as soon as I saw the theme I had my idea...I have had these Trendy Tubes from PTI for quite some time and thought they would be perfect for holding cupcake toppings!  I am going to give them as a gift along with some spooky Halloween cupcake papers and the some homemade cupcake mix in a Mason jar. Since I knew what I wanted to do I just had to figure out how to do it, so I went through all of my dies and found one I had never even pulled out of the package, the loopy bow die, just too much fun and I look forward to seeing what else I can use it for.

After I put the felt bow on the tubes it still needed something so I pulled out the label from the Tea for Two set and stamped the outline only and then used stamps from the Everyday Treats.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

Retro Sketches #29 and CAS-ual Fridays

It seems like it has been forever since I have had the chance to participate in these challenges. Retro Sketches is one of my favorite challenge blogs to do and this weeks sketch turned out to be so perfect for a Halloween card, my favorite holiday! And it just so happens that my card worked perfect for this weeks CAS-ual Friday, have not done one of their challenges in months! I decided to turn the sketch on its side and stretch out this sweet little bat that is all decked out and ready to hit the streets for a bit of trick or treating.  I fell in love with this amazing Halloween bakers twine that my friend Joyce from Cards-by-the-Sea sent me, it is just perfect for my pumpkin. Thanks for much to taking a peek!

Waltzingmouse Blog Party - September 2012

Blog-Party-Logo 70%25

It's time again for the Waltzingmouse Blog Party and I am so happy that I had my card ready to go a few days early...I hate to be late to the party. This month's theme is Fall and Claire gave us an incredible photo to for inspiration...I made a card for this week's sketch challenge thinking the theme was the holidays but I was wrong and so happy I went back and read what she wrote about this month's party.  One of the last sets I purchased from WM was Teeny Trees and really have not had the chance to play with it too much. When I realized the theme was fall I knew just what I wanted to do with this set.  I love all of the sweet tree options you get with this set and I used the ones that are my favorites. I love the stick trunks and branches and the options you have with all of the different leaves, just so much fun. If you have not made your card yet for this party, you may still have time...check out the rules and you have the chance to win a free stamp set too!

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #115 and Baseball

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge

Happy Sunday! Yesterday I finally had some time and felt motivated to make some cards...I have really missed sitting at my desk playing with all of my incredible toys.  It felt so good and I made 3 cards and for 3 different challenges too!  My first card is for Waltzingmouse sketch challenge...to be honest I really thought my card would double for both the sketch and the blog party, well I was wrong, the blog party card theme is fall and of course I made Christmas....oh well, I can always use more Christmas cards and I was so happy with the way this one turned out, it even has a hidden Mickey on it! I have a large drawer filled with scraps from card kits and challenges and this card was made using nothing but leftover...felt good to do that, but now I really need to get it organized.

Josh Reddick - Hottest player for the Oakland A's and he is just too cute too!

Christina and Ashleigh...they are just a hoot to hang out with at the ball park.  We took Christina to the game to celebrate her birthday and had a great time! We all root for different teams, Ashleigh is an A's fan, I'm for the Giants and unfortunately Christina is an Angel's fan...sure makes for some interesting conversation at the park!

Four of a Kind - September Edition

Happy September! This is just the best time of the year, the trees start to change color and the air gets a bit crisp and it also means that Halloween is right around the corner...my favorite time of the year! Our hostess for this months Four of a Kind challenge is Cathy from Empty Nest Crafter and her kit is just amazing! I have been in love with the Waltzingmouse set she used for some time, it was fun to be able to play with a set I don't have.  Back In The Saddle is such a fun set even if you are not a country gal like me...I had so much fun and even learned how to tie a lasso (took me watching a YouTube video for about 10 times to get it right) for one of my card, it's one of the "self assembling" cards that Cathy included in my kit.  After having the time to play with the stamped images from this set, it is now at the top of my wish list! Be sure to check out the cards make by Cathy, Joyce and Renee too, I know they will be just wonderful! Next month is my turn at being the Hostess and I will be celebrating my favorite holiday
