Four of a Kind - October Edition

October is my favorite month and Halloween my favorite holiday.  I spent most of the summer collecting goodies for my kits, most if it being black and orange too. Can't go wrong with those colors! I have had my cards ready for some time and hoped to get a few more made but got some pesky bug...at first is was just more annoying than anything else but now it has kicked my butt, so my post will be short and sweet.  So sorry about that but I did not want to let the other wonderful ladies in my group down, I know they have worked hard and have some incredible goodies to share too.

I wanted to add candy eyeballs to my jar but Target did not have any and I did not have time to run around looking for them after I got this bug.  The good thing is that there is still plenty of time before Halloween arrives.
Funny story about this card...I was not sure what I was going to do with it so I went ahead and stamped the sweet witch and her cauldron on the orange houndstooth and added the black pearls for the bubbles...set it a side for a bit then decided to use a die to cut her out and did not even think about the pearls! I figured they were ruined, but when I took the top piece of plastic off I saw that they were just smashed and now it really looked like a bubbling cauldron. I love it when mistakes turn out good.
I can't remember if this is Cicely or Gracie, but both of them are just so sweet...thanks Renee for letting my borrow your stamps! I need to add both of these sets to my collection.
I love tulle and decided to include some in my kit, Joyce thought I had send some black silk stocking, that might have worked too.
Treat or Treat is under the pull tab...

Be sure to head over to see what Renee, Cathy and Joyce have created.

Waltzingmouse October Blog Party

Blog-Party-Logo 70%25
I have been so excited about posting cards this month...October is my favorite time of year for so many reasons, I love Halloween, San Francisco Giants are in the playoffs, the weather starts to change and so many more.  Today's card is for Waltzingmouse's Blog Party and the theme is Halloween colors.  I do believe that WM has the best Halloween stamps around, they are so amazing and so fun to use. I used some of my supplies that I had set aside for this month's Four of a Kind post and also was able to make one card for two Waltzingmouse challenges, love it when that happens!

Here are the inspiration colors...just so beautiful!

My card is also for this weeks Waltzingmouse sketch challenge...once I decided to use the dark clouds I really wanted to add a witch flying behind them, but all I had was her broom, so that is what I used to try and give the illusion that there is a witch somewhere behind those spooky clouds. Thanks for taking a peek and be sure to play along, you can win a free set of Waltzingmouse stamps!

Just Favors....

Happy Sunday...hope everyone is having a fabulous day, we are having beautiful weather today, perfect for the Giant's home game later today.  I did not get any cards made yet but have been working on some little Christmas treat holders for my co-workers and students. They were quick and fun to make, I just set up a little assembly line and it took no time at all.  I even have the baseball game on, Detroit leads the Yankees 3-0 right now.  Here is what I have been working on along with a few gift card holders using the new kraft pillow boxes from WP9.  I purchased the new snowflake die from WPlus9 and I am in love with it as you can from what I made, I used it on each one.
Thanks for taking a peek....

Yesterday was another installment on the quest of the perfect grilled cheese sandwich...my mom and I headed back to San Francisco to Union Square for a bit of shopping at my favorite store, Britex and then to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch.  I have to be honest, this is not one of my favorite places to eat but after yesterday I may have changed my mind.  I looked up their menu online and saw that they had grilled cheese and this being one my mom's favorite restaurant we would give them a try.  We were a bit disappointed once seated and saw the menu, No Grilled Cheese! How could that be??? Well we got the sweetest waiter on the planet and he made it happen, 2 grilled cheese sandwiches with bacon, jalapenos and tomato and it was so yummy. My mom gave it a 8.5 and I gave it a 9 on a scale of 10.  The bread was so yummy and toasted to perfection and it was huge, enough to bring home and pop in the convection oven and have the other half for lunch today and it was just as good as it was yesterday.  We will go back!

Cloud 9 October Blog Hop

Life has just been so busy that I have not had too much time to be crafty and I just hate it...I just can't seem to put my finger on it either so I can't make any excuses. Just life and family...we did have a busy weekend, Friday night Ashleigh and I went to see Florence and the Machine, Saturday Dwight and I went to the San Francisco Giant's post season game and Sunday back to San Francisco to see the Blue Angles and dinner with friends, I had a blast but was really looking forward to going back to work to relax and find some crafty time.
Anyway, back to why I am posting...I am so excited because this is the first month I have been able to play along with this new challenge blog for WPlus9 stamps. I only have 3 sets and unfortunately nothing to go along with this months theme, but I have a sweet friend Renee who I think must have had ESP or something because she sent me this envelope jam packed with all kinds of wonderful WP9 fall goodies! Renee, you are just the best, thank you again.  I had a few minutes this morning and decided I needed to get this card made and really that was all it took.  Thank you so much for taking a peek!

Retro Sketches #31

Happy Tuesday...I had planned on posting this card yesterday but I was called in to sub and it was so hot when I got home I just wanted to melt! I won't complain too much because I know there were areas of the San Francisco bay area that were much hotter, but it was still hot no matter how you slice it. I finally had the chance to sit down and get another card made and this one I used some the new Papertrey Ink color, Limeade Ice, it is just beautiful. I also used the new loop de loop die to make the phone cord, just too cute!
Here is the wonderful sketch for this weeks challenge with Retro Sketches....

Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend too with all of this beautiful weather...Ashleigh and I went to the Fox Theater in Oakland to see The Gaslight Anthem.  They were fabulous and the theater is just as fabulous...if you have never been there you need to go, it is just breath taking. The theater opened in 1928 as a movie theater and closed in 1970 but then fully restored and reopened in 2009.  We have been to several concerts here, I love the smaller size venue and the decor is just so beautiful.
