The 12 Kits of Occasions Blog.....

The 12 Kits of Occasions

Hello....tomorrow is a big for our 12 kits group and we have lots of fabulous changes and even a wonderful prize offered up by this month's Hostess, Christina.  We have even changed the name to reflect the changes in our cards.  We started off in January 2012 with kits to make enough Christmas and Holiday cards for that year but then decided it would be great to have cards for all the holiday's and that is where the new name comes in, The 12 Kits of Occasions.
You can visit our new blog here and  get a few sneak peeks here on our new FaceBook page.

Dynamic Duo's #63 and a thank you card....

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.  I have a quick post for today, just two cards and only one challenge. My challenge card is for this week's Dynamic Duo's, at first I was going to skip this week because I could not get these two colors to work for me.  I played around with several stamps and then I found something that would work and here it is.

My last card is a thank you card and I recreated another card I made a week or so ago.  This coming week I will be teaching my last week of summer school and my class is on baseball, my favorite sport. Wednesday my class is heading to the Oakland Coliseum for a real baseball game to see the Oakland A's and the Toronto Blue Jays, should be a fun afternoon.  But to make it even better, the Oakland A's donated the tickets and I wanted to be sure to have a thank you card for them. So here is my card.  Thank you so much for taking time to stop by to peek at my cards....have a fabulous week!

CASology #54 - Gold and a Few New Sweaters

Happy Friday! My first card is for this week's CASology challenge and this week's cue card is Gold.  I always try and make my card to reflect the first thing that pops into my head once I see that cue card and this week is no exception. I know some of you will laugh but the first thing I thought of was the Golden Egg in Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.  Veruca Salt was quite the little brat, wanting all the geese that laid the Golden Eggs. I have seen this movie about 100 or so times, the children at school love it, even if it is a bit old in their minds. So I pulled out my A Good Egg stamp set from Waltzingmouse and here you go!

My next 3 cards are just for fun! Remember back when that was why we made cards, before all the challenges started popping up.  Don't get me wrong I love making cards for as many challenges as I can, it forces me to do techniques I may not know and use stamps and supplies that have been sitting around collecting dust.  But these cards are just for fun and thanks to Joyce from Cards-by-the-Sea, for letting me borrow her PTI Shape Up Sweater die and I just fell in love with it.  I actually made 7 sweater cards but I will not bore you with photo's of all of them.  Thank you again for stopping by to peek at my cards....have a fabulous weekend!

Two cards for Wednesday...

Time sure flies when you don't have to be any where...it is so much fun just to hang out at home and be crafty.  I have 2 cards to share today...the first one is for 10 Minute Craft Dash #22 and Paper Players #155, this is my second time playing for 10 Minute Craft Dash and I was much more prepared and did not look at my phone for the time until I was finished.  I was so surprised at how quick the card came together. It was fast and easy to make and while I was making it I kept thinking about Renee from It's a Patchwork Life...she just loves Navy blue.  I would love to see the inside of her house, I am sure there is lots of navy around.

My next card is for this week's Mood Board #17 over at WP9 stamps.  The mood board this week is fun, I always have these little tissue packs in my hand bag but never really looked that close to the design.  They are a fun inspiration for card making I will admit.  Here is my take on this week's challenge.  Thank you so much for taking time to peek at my cards....have a fabulous week!

Retro Sketches #73 and Little Tangles #17 - Into the Woods

Happy Tuesday...hope everyone is having a fabulous week! I have 2 cards to share today, one for RetroSketches and one for Little Tangles, this is my first time playing with Neat & Tangled.  I am also happy to say that both of my cards have one of more NBUS too.  So much fun pulling out the new goodies. My first card is for RetroSketches #73 and as soon as I saw this week's sketch I knew I needed to make a baseball card and crossed my fingers that no one else came up with the same idea.  Since I am a SF Giants fan I decided to go with their color scheme, black and orange.

My next card is for this week's Little Tangles - Into the Woods.  I only have a few of their stamps and we so happy to see that one of them was wood grain.  I decided to use it to make a tree and cut the branches using Lucy, but the tree looked a bit bare so I pulled out resting birds die from MB and that seemed to do the trick.  The background paper is from Pebbles, Walnut Grove, I loved the look of the banners strung up behind my tree.  Thank you so much for taking time to stop by to peek at my cards...have a wonderful week!

DamaskLoveLive

I am really not quite sure where to start...what an amazing day! I spent the day in Berkeley at a store called Scrapbook Territory for an all day class hosted by non-other than Amber from DamaskLove, now if you have never been to her blog it needs to be your next stop on your computer travels, she is simply amazing! She has to be one of the sweetest most down to earth ladies on the planet, bubbly, funny, spirited...I really could go on for days.  I will say this, if and when Amber does another one of her classes it is a MUST DO and worth every penny.  We spent just about every minute between 10am to 5:30pm crafting, learning and laughing.  I will warn you that my post is photo heavy but I did not want to leave any detail of the day, so here goes...the first photos are from the class and what we learned and made.

Amber was a fabulous teacher, lots of hands on help when needed and plenty of encouragement too. It was very hard to believe this was the second time she had done anything like this...it was 2 day event, both days doing the same projects, just different ladies.  She also had 2 of the cutest helpers and they were there snapping photos and cutting and passing out supplies.

This was one of those classes where you did not need to bring a thing with you other than your imagination and we had these fabulous little berry baskets filled with supplies that we needed for the day and got to take home too.

We all had the coolest Swag Bags hanging on our chairs and they were filled the brim with all kinds of wonderful goodies, from adhesive to custom stamps made just for this class to ink pads and bakers twine and so much more!

What is a class without prizes....and wow, what a fabulous bunch of prizes too. I was lucky enough to win 2 of them.  A new CuttleBug and a bag filled with all kinds of adhesive.

Last but surely not least there was a "Ribbon Bar" filled with rolls of May Arts ribbon and clear Chinese take out containers to fill to your hearts content.  Across the room was a table filled with every color of bakers twine that the Twinery makes, and again we could fill our take out boxes with as much as we would like.

While I was at class my husband and daughter spent the day shopping in Berkeley and San Francisco and she scored a new pair of Doc Martin steel toed shoes for work, aren't they just too cute?

Thank you so much for stopping by to hear about my fabulously fun day!
