Dynamic Duo's #68

I have one card to share today...Dynamic Duo's #68. This week's colors are Plum and your choice and what goes better with Plum than just about any shade of green.  I have not played with them for some time and needed to make a wedding card for Ashleigh's English teacher who is getting married next month.  I was inspired by the Celtic Heart Knot, Renee from It's a Patchwork Life gave me the challenge to duplicate the knot that Claire from Waltzing mouse made for the Pajama Party.  I did a bit of looking and found the knot and made it right my first try! I was so excited.  I hated to see the knot go to waste and thought it would be perfect for a wedding card.  I paired it with WP9's Fresh Cut Florals.  Thank you so much for taking time to stop by to peek at my card....have a wonderful weekend!

The 12 Kits of Occasions - August Edition

Kit Photo - Courtesy of Kara

This month's hostess is the incredibly talented Amy from Stamp-n-Paradise.  What a fabulous kit too...it is always so much fun to receive a kit with goodies that you don't already own.  I have 3 cards to share with you today, to be honest, my plan was to make several more cards and a notebook cover but I had a sweet little house guest named Rachel, she is 10 years old and she loves to craft and I usually let her use whatever is in my craft room but by the time I realized that I left my kit laying out on my desk (hoping that I would have the kit with the "self assembling" cards in it), she had already gone to town! So I did my best with what she left behind for me to use, you gotta love little kids, especially those that love to craft.
I love that we get several kits with Christmas card ingredients in them, I have plenty of cards to use to send out again this year, so fun to be so far ahead of the game! This is our second month using our new Blog "The 12 Kits of Occasions", there you will find the list of kit ingredients and links to each ladies blog.  Be sure to leave a comment on the group blog page, there is a giveaway this month.  Thank you so much for stopping by to peek at my cards....have a fabulous weekend!

WM Pajama Party and CASology #59 - Book

My first card is for this week's CASology challenge, #59 and the cue card is "book".  I knew instantly what I wanted to do, I have always loved to read but not Ashleigh, it was really like pulling teeth. But then something happened, Stephanie Meyers wrote the Twilight series and she was hooked and not just the Twilight books but any book and she has no problem reading them over and over again.  While visiting Joyce for SAF, she was so sweet to share and piece of red glitter type card stock and I thought that it would make the perfect apple and Lucy had not problem cutting it either. I have to tell that we had so much fun with the whole Twilight thing, books, movies, waiting in line all day to see them at midnight, meeting the cast and even doing the Twilight movie tour in Washington and Oregon, they are such great memories!
This week is Anything Goes over at Simon Says Stamps so I will be posting all of my cards there too.

When we met to see Eclipse I thought some apple cupcakes would be fun to share with our friends in line. We would even order pizza to be delivered to the theater and camp out all day, some took naps, other read and we all had a blast!

My next few cards/projects are all for this month's Waltzingmouse Pajama Party, there are 5 separate challenges for the pajama party. There are prizes for each individual challenge and you don't have to have WM stamps to play along, but if you do there is a bigger prize. I am so happy that I planned ahead for this one and can't wait to see what the rest of the party goers create!

Crafting but no cards....

Happy Wednesday! I don't have any cards to share just yet but I do have a two crafty projects to show you today.  Both I am embarrassed to say that both are late gifts to my mom and a close friend. Since making cards, they seem to be all I do these days but I had to get these finished before the holidays roll around again.

First up is a Halloween quilt that is for my mom and I wanted to be sure it was finished before Halloween rolls around a second time after giving it to, yes it is almost 2 years late!  But I know she will love it no matter what and it was so much fun to make too. I collected Halloween fabric from all over just to make it special.

Next up is a counted cross stitch I made for a sweet friend and she just loves Star Trek.  I found this pattern on Etsy from Pixel People, they have so many fun patterns to choose from, just pay, download and print them on your computer.  This is the fourth one I have made, Dr. Who, Golden Girls, Big Band Theory and now Star Trek.  They are pretty quick to stitch and my next project will be Scooby Doo, a Christmas gift for Ashleigh, even though she is 21, she still loves watching the cartoons.  Thank you so much for taking time to stop by to peek at my craft projects today...have a great week!

Stamp-A-Faire and so much more!

       SAF-2013-Logo
What a fabulous 2 days, so much to do and even more, so much fun.  There were times when I was laughing so hard that I had tears in my eyes. So fun to spend time relaxing and crafting with friends.  I have a few photos to share of our day and several cards to share too that need to be added to a few of yesterday's PTI challenges.  It was so much fun to meet Marybeth from Marybeth's Time for Paper and see Cathy again from Empty Nest Crafter so sweet and so funny! We all wished that Tracey from In My Creative Opinion would have been there with us so we all decided to CASe her first card of the day, it was so much fun and then after we worked the bugs out of Face Time we all got to chat for a bit in the afternoon. Such a treat.
Joyce is the sweetest hostess and made sure we all had everything we needed for a fun day and if you ever get the chance to see her incredible room, you will be amazed. She is about as organized as they come and has just about everything craft supply there is which makes it very easy to make any type of card you want.
I have 3 cards and several photo's to share so without any further chatting here they are.  Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by to peek at my cards....have a fabulous week.

Friday afternoon we thought it would be fun to make a few cards, but we only made one each.  We both used the new PTI Mum's the Word, it is a beautiful set.

We also went for a walk to the beach, the weather was so beautiful.  Can you imagine living so close to the beach you can just walk to it? So fun!

Gallon, Quart and Pint Challenge

Marybeth was sweet enough to bring some of her new stamps, so we all were able to play with the new PTI coffee set, so much fun. Since I do not color, I used the stacked coffee cups as a background stamp and love the way it turned out.

We really spent more time chatting than crafting and for some reason we still had quite the mess.  This photo is the one I am using for the PTI Stamp-A-Faire Closing Ceremony, what better way to end a fabulous day than with a big mess.

This card is one I made before my trip for today's PTI Blog Hop. My plan was to get more than one card made but needless to say that did not happen and I was just happy to have one to enter. I don't use browns much when stamping but I have to say I was pretty happy with the way my card turned out. So back to the real world again and looking forward to another summer Stamp-A-Faire event.

Friday with Joyce!

Happy Friday everyone.  I'm in beautiful Cardiff By The Sea at Joyce's fabulous home.  We are getting ready for a busy tomorrow being crafty for PTI's Stamp-A-Faire.  We took a walk to the beach with her new dog, Sherlock. But it was more like Sherlock took us for a walk. It is so beautiful here and the weather is just perfect.  Thanks for stopping by, see you soon!

Surprise!!!!! Happy Belated Birthday Marybeth!

Surprise Marybeth, Happy Birthday!

Surprise...Thanks to Joyce from Cards-by-the-Sea and Cathy from Empty Nest Crafter for organizing this belated birthday blog hope for sweet Marybeth! As you can see from the long list of party goers, Marybeth is well loved by everyone.  I decided to try out a new technique on my card...PTI just released a new Burlap Impression Plate selling for $16.00 and thanks to Kelly Griglione from Notable Nest, she used a piece of burlap fabric and that cost me a whopping $.85 cents! I even had plenty to share, such a deal, right? It worked like a charm too.  Be sure to head over to the party girls blog, Marybeth's time for Paper to wish her a happy birthday.  Again, Happy Birthday Marybeth...hope. your day was as special as you are!  Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by to peek at my blog....have a fabulous week!

I told you it was a big party...if you get the time, be sure to stop by and see all the wonderful birthday cards that have been made to celebrate Marybeths' special day.

Curtain Call - Carnival Craze and Lil Inker's Birthday Party

Wow...this week has just zipped by! Went back to work today, lots of cleaning, tossing out, organizing and meetings. I really could have spent all day there, but why do in one day what I can spread out over the next several?  It is a nice feeling to have everything clean and fresh for the new school year.  I have two cards to share and the first one is for Curtain Call's current challenge - Carnival Craze.  Once again I came up empty with stamps so I put Miss Lucy to work, she never gets a break! But she always comes through for me and today was no exception, I found this fun Ferris Wheel to fit the theme. It was so much fun to make and thought a bit of bling would dress it up a bit too.

My next card is for Lil Inker's Birthday Party, they just turned 3!!! So exciting, there is still plenty of time to play along and they have some fabulous prizes too. Thank you so much for taking time to stop by to peek at my card...have a great rest of your week.

Second post of the day and I have 2 cards to share. The first card is for Merry Monday's #70, I have not played along in some time and fell in love with the sketch and knew just what I would do.  Some time back a sweet friend of mine, Cathy from Empty Nest Crafter was so kind and sent me the most adorable Santa face stamp from Serendipity Stamps, isn't he just the jolliest?  My patterned paper is from Doodlebug and is pretty old, I knew I would find the right use for it some day.

My second card is for this week's challenge over at Seize the Sketch and in fact it is their first challenge, how fun to be in on the fun the very beginning!  I pulled out a stamp set that has been sitting in my stamp bin for some time, it was fun to play with and added a bit of festive sequins for a bit of bling!
