The 12 Kits of Occasions - December 2013 Edition

Can you believe it is almost the end of 2013 and another year of The 12 Kits is behind us after today's post. This month our hostess with the hostess is Jessica from  the Paper Parade. Jessica sent out the most amazing kit...so many wonderful papers, dies, embellishments and even some stamps! I made 8 cards and to be honest I still have enough leftovers to make another 8 plus cards.
We have some sad news, this will be Amy's from Stamp-n-Paradise final month with us at 12 Kits, she will be missed to much. I wish you all the best in whatever you do, you are such amazing crafter/card maker and I know we will all be seeing lots of your fabulous creations in blogland.  But the good news is, Jeanne from A Kept Life will be back playing with us again in 2014. So welcome back Jeanne!  Another fun twist to this month is that Sharron our January Host is offering an extra kit to one lucky commenter on our 12 Kits blog. So good luck and I can't wait to see who will be playing along with us in January.

Thank you so much for taking time to stop by to peek at my cards...be sure to head over to The 12 Kits of Occasions blog to see who the lucky winner is and the rest of our groups creations, I know they will all be amazing!  Happy New Year to all of you!

This is my favorite of the bunch...I stamped snowflakes using the background stamp that Jessica provided in VersaMark and heat embossed with clear powder, I just love this sweet little bunny!

ColourQ #221

Just a quick post today with one card for this week's ColourQ #221 Challenge. I feel in love with the collection of colors and thought they would go nicely with my NBUS Papery Smooches - Surf and Turf.  It was a pretty quick card to make other than the fussy cutting. Took me 2 tries on the little bird, cut his little legs off and he really needed them.  Thank you so much for taking time to stop by to peek at my card...Happy New Year to all of you!

Serendipity #26 - Chalk and CASology #76 - Party

Happy Friday! Having this time off from school, I keep losing track of what day it is, maybe it is a getting old thing.  I have 2 cards to share today, the first one is for the current challenge over at CASology, it has been forever since I have had the time to play along and with this week's cue card "Party" it was not hard to come up with an idea.

My second card is also for the current challenge at Serendipity and their theme is "Chalk".  I know this technique has been around for some time but I never gave it a try. Happy to say that I love the look and will be making more cards like this one. Thank you so much for taking time to stop by to peek at my cards...Happy New Year!

Papertrey Ink December 2013 Blog Hop - Tied Up With String

Merry Christmas, Happy Boxing Day and Happy New Year...wishing everyone a blessed holiday season. My family had a very nice and quiet holiday and very low key, just way we like it. I have not been doing much crafting because of being sick so not much mojo right now. My daughter gave me Led Zeppelin's "The Song Remains the Same" DVD so I should be plenty inspired from hearing their amazing music! My post today will be very quick and it is getting in just under the wire today for Papertrey Ink's December Blog Hop.  I picked up some fun metal tins from The Container Store and filled them with Christmas candy and a bakers twine bow and fun tag, complete with jingle bells.  Thank you so much for taking time to stop by to peek at my project.

Serendipity #25 - Shaped Cards

Only 10 more days until Christmas...shopping and wrapping are finished, just need to get the cards in the mail and some cookies baked (we will do those next weekend), so other than popping a few gifts in the mail, we are ready for Santa to make his visit.  I know you are all very busy this time of year so I will keep this short and sweet.  I only have one card to share today and it is for the current challenge over at Serendipity stamps and the theme is "shaped cards" and I do realize that my card is not really a shape other than a rectangle but I just had to put these sweet little penguins on a sweater, so my shape is a sweater, and I have few extra photos to share too....Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and peek at my cards....have a wonderful rest of your weekend!

Lefty ODoul's
Last night was Santa Con Pub Crawl in San Francisco - there were more Santa's in this city last night than you can even imagine...some folks worn elf costumes, other were snowmen...just so much fun.  I could not convince my family and friends to wear costumes this year other than Santa hats, so I will work on them for next year, so wish me luck.

Our tree this year....

Lawn Fawn hop with Joyce...

Some time back Lawn Fawn put the word out that they would be having a little hop with the first 30 ladies who signed up, but I was at work and was not able to get my name on the list in time, then they decided at bump the number to 40 and once again, a day late and a dollar short....but my sweet friend Joyce from Cards-by-the-Sea asked me to play along and be her guest on this hop. I was so excited to be asked to hop with her...you are welcome to leave comments but any comments left on my blog will not get on the prize list with Lawn Fawn.  I love paper piecing and this sweet little gingerbread house was so much fun. I am also entering my card in this week's SSS Challenge this week, the theme is Let it Snow.
I am so happy that I made this some time back, once again I have been sick. This is one of the big negatives to working with children and I seem to be the lucky one and caught everything they toss my way! So once again, I must apologize for not getting to comment on all your fabulous and wonderful creations, to be honest I have spent most of my time sleeping, trying to get rest so I will feel better sooner than later.  I am going to do my best to get my comments made, but it will take some time so please bare with me.
Thank you so much for taking time to stop by and peek at my card and thank you Joyce for letting me share this hop with you.  Wishing everyone a very blessed holiday season!

ColourQ #217, Curtain Call - Christmas Countdown and SSS - Anything Goes

Happy Monday...wow, it is December 2nd already, this year has literally flown by! So much to do and so little time to do it all in. I have 2 cards to share for 3 challenges. My first card is for this week's ColourQ and SSS, love this combination of colors, they remind me of autumn.  I pulled out a bunch of NBUS to make this card, Into the Woods stamps from Lawn Fawn and Tipped Topped die from PTI.  Both were fun to play with and I love the look of the wonky rectangle, it seems to add a bit of whimsy to the card.
