Happy Birthday Geri!

Yesterday was Geri's (Manitoba Stamper is her fabulous blog) birthday and I am late to the party. So sorry Geri...but on the bright side in my family we celebrate for the entire month so you really have a few more days to party.  Geri is an incredible card maker, I love the clean and classy look she creates with paper and stamps. I wanted to make something festive and fun so I pulled out some of the goodies from my Shaker and Sprinkle kit, there is so much fun stuff to play with. Two more cards for the day....

Two more cards to share for the day. We had a busy day of clothes shopping and I was surprised as to how quickly we found what we needed and got home. We headed out to the Livermore Outlets, it was so stinkin' hot out there, 100 degrees! I was surprised that there were so many people out shopping in the heat, this is not an enclosed mall.  I could never live in this area...way to hot!
Once home I decided to get busy with some card making and have a couple more to share. My first card is for the ColourQ challenge...the color combination is so pretty I could not resist.  I remember a card being made similar to this when these stamps were released from PTI some time back. This why I wanted this set and my first time playing with them.

Colour Me #30

Happy Saturday....I have one card to share today, it is for the current challenge over at Colour Me...! At first I really struggled with the colors, I have lots of rejects in my recycle bin to prove it. So after spending some time thinking about how to make the colors work I came up with this. I love these butterfly dies from PTI and thought they might look nice layered. I was having trouble finding something gold to add to my card and found these Kaiser pearls floating around, I love the way they look. This a photo of my hubby's garden, it is such a treat to have fresh veggies to eat every day. Yesterday he picked 3 gallon size bags of green beans and 4 large cucumbers. We have peppers, lot so very hot peppers like Ghost, Habanero, Serrano and Jalapenos too. Fresh carrots, heirloom tomatoes and eggplants are yummy too. I have plenty to share, come on over.

My day has been nice an quiet, I have been hanging out in my craft room most of the day and enjoying every minute of it. Happy Saturday...wishing everyone a wonderful weekend. Mine is going to be a nice and quiet one, so happy about that. I need to apologize for not being around this week to comment, I have had computer issues this week (how did we all survive before computers???) and it was finally fixed on Friday night. My week was pretty busy too, so not too much crafting either, not that I need my computer to make a card, but it is good company. So I am a bit behind on commenting and will do my best to get caught up over the weekend.

2 cards for Saturday and a Giant's game too...

What a fabulous day! My sweet daughter took me to a San Francisco Giant's game today, it was my Mother's Day gift and we had an amazing day. And to make the day even more special, it was Dave Dravecky Day, what an amazing man and ball player, so inspiring.  And all the old Giant's players were there too, so many wonderful memories of games from back in the 1980's and so many tear jerking stories too, I thought there was no crying in baseball??? So thank you again Ashleigh, I had the time of my life!

Now on to my cards...2 of them for the same challenge. I fell in love with this week's colors at ColourQ Challenge #249, so I could not stop at one. My first card is using a NBUS that I won from The Alley Ways Stamps, Mrs. Rogers Neighborhood, their stamps are very whimsical and fun. While looking around their site for some inspiration I found that they added cut files for most of their stamp sets, so much more affordable too...a $1.50 for cut files for an entire stamp set!

Simply Create Too...Christmas in July - challenge #65

Ho Ho Ho...it's that time of year, Christmas in July! Happy Wednesday....I have one card to share today and it is for the current challenge at CAS-ology, the cue card is Glow. What a difficult cue card if you ask me, I played around a bit last night and everything I came up did not fit the rules of CAS, so on the bright side and have a couple of extra cards to add to my stash. I woke up this morning at 4am with Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer song in my head and there it was...my idea for my glow card, Rudolph's nose! And I knew just the stamp to use too. One more card for the day.....

One more card and a quick post...I love the movies Despicable Me and I love so much that I torture my children at school by making them watch them over and over again. I keep hearing, "Miss Kim, we have already watched this movie, do we have to watch it again?" I always have to remind them who is in charge...LOL So after I saw JJ Bolton's sweet minion card (you can see her card here) I had to recreate one of my own. It is not near as cute as hers but I am still very happy with it. I had to use my imagination a bit to come up with the "parts", a milk bottle bottom for the head and then a circle die to get the head band and roller coaster wheels for the eyeballs and then some black twine for the hair...so much fun to make!
