I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend so far! Today we were all up at 6am and out the door before 7:30 and in San Francisco by 8am! So much to do once we get to Haight Street, waiting in line for 2 1/2 hours. We left Ashleigh in line and headed across the street to Whole Foods for a cup of coffee and a bite to eat. Today was Record Store Day and also 4/20, San Francisco was swarming with people, so many people, thousands of people. Some for record store day, but most there to go into Golden Gate Park to celebrate 4/20, I can't remember when I have seen so many people in one place other than at a rock concert, you could get a contact high just walking down the street! Once home I had some crafty time and made 3 cards to post.
While waiting to get our coffee, my husband thought that 420 on the cupcake was the address of Whole Foods, everyone in line had a good laugh!
Inside Amoeba Records, well over 1000 people inside once the doors opened at 10:30am
Back to my cards...I made 3 cards for 3 challenges, Simon Says Stamp, Dynamic Duo's and Lawnscaping from lawn fawn. My first card is for Simon Says Stamp - Travel and/or Cityscape, you still have plenty of time to play along too! I purchased this large stamp after taking Clean & Simple Card Making 2, just fell in love with it and finally pulled it out to use. It is hard to see in the photo but the red color is heat embossed, it really gives the card a fabulous look!
Second card is for this week's Lawnscaping Challenge and my first time playing along. I have 2 of Lawn Fawn's little stamp sets so it was easy to figure out what to make. I have their Bee Mine stamp set and these little bee's are just too cute! I used their Pink Lemonade 6x6 patterned paper and limeade twine. The inspiration for this week's lawnscaping challenge is what inspires you...I was inspired by my toes, I know is sounds silly but they are lime green, my favorite color!
My third and last card is for this weeks Dynamic Duo challenge...the colors for this week are basic gray and black. I don't know what pops into your head when you see these 2 colors together but for me it was a graduation card. I was inspired by a card made by Deanna, you can see her card here. I just loved the look of the diagonal stripes and did the same on my card. Sorry for such a long post but it was a very busy day! Thank you so much for taking time to stop by and peek at my cards....hope the rest of your weekend is fabulous!

All three are just fantastic. I don't need to ask if you inhaled today, because you would not have gotten your stamps so straight if you had. I am most in love with your first card--I love how you paired those two sets, and I will be casing this one for sure. Your bee card is so cute, and I'll bet your toes are cute, too. You should show a picture! Your graduation card is pure elegance.
ReplyDeleteKim I loved reading about your day at Haight Street and loved our texts while you were there too. All three of your cards are fabulous, your cityscape with the airplane is so cool, love your Lawn Fawn with the sweet bees and your black and grey subway art very cool.

These are all fab ... such a clever cityscape, love the sentiment ... the bees are so sweet and I had a chuckle at the thought of you having lime green toes (really??) ... the subway art is cool, cool, cool! All this after a frantic time in the city too ... amazing! Anita :)

ReplyDeleteAwesome cards, Kim. They're all sweet. Love that cityscape, especially the red embossing. The bee card is sweet, but I have to say that your last one is my favorite. In truth, they are all wonderful. Bev
ReplyDeletewho knew a card inspired by toes could be so cute? Thanks for playing along with us at lawnscaping!
ReplyDeleteWow...busy, busy girl with amazing results! Awesome city scape image - the red embossing really adds depth & intensity which totally makes the image pop! Of course, those cute little bees, grinning sweetly as the fly by are beyond cute - but the button flowers are cuter (don't tell the bees)! My fav is the graduation card - stunning design and stunning colors/patters so fitting for the occasion!
ReplyDelete.... so now I want a cupcake....
All of your cards are wonderful!! Love all of the great images especially the cityscape one! ;)

ReplyDeleteI love that city scene...
I bet the red is gorgeous IRL embossed!
And those button flowers with the cute bees...
love it!
And what a dramatic card using the duo colors...
it's perfect!
Sounds like you had a fabulous day...
and if you're talking about the contact high I'm thinking about...
hadn't had one of those since my concert days at Municipal...
kind'a miss those days.
General admission tickets for $10...
I was close enough to see David Coverdale's wrinkles up close once...
it was not good. :(
The next time I saw Whitesnake I went to the stands because that was a sight I only needed to see once. :)
What a darling card - I love the mixed pattern rolling hills you created!
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing along with Lawnscaping!
I thoroughly enjoyed your Saturday journaling for us, Kim, and am thoroughly gobsmacked by all three of your cards! Crafting with a contact high definitely didn't hurt your creative juices! Each one NAILS the challenge you made it for. I love the paper hills with the bees, like you did for your awesome bike card! And the congraduation card is an elegant masterpiece - a fantastic CASE of Deanna's card!! Well done!!
