CASology #48 and PTI Make it Monday #120

Happy Thursday!  I have two cards to share today, the first one is just for fun, a birthday card for a co-worker.  My second card is for this week's challenges at CASology and PTI's Make it Monday.
I purchased this really cool die from Laurie at Soap Box Creations and it is for hanging your greeting card outside of a gift bag, otherwise known as the "card holder" die.  You can see more about that here.  It is an amazing little die that is a must have! It has been driving me nuts that I did not have anyone to give a gift to so I could use it, so finally one of my co-workers decided to have a birthday so happy day!  This was so much fun to play with!  I used Ruby Red stamps and dies from PTI, I have to admit I had a bit of a difficult time lining up my stamp with my dies but I am still very happy with how it all came together.

My next card is for CASology and Make it Monday. this week's CASology cue card is "yellow"...I love yellow, it is so bright and cheerful, just makes me smile.  Since PTI"s Make it Monday is Overlapping Ombre I pulled out Fanfare from Avery Elle, this border is so fun to use and looks so pretty.  I know my colors are not actually overlapping but I still will play along.  This is a technique I do use often enough, the results can be so beautiful and create a different look to your card.  Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by to peek at my card....have a wonderful rest of your week!

So glad I turned you on to florals! And, your yellow ombre card is just gorgeous. That is the perfect stamp choice for that technique and those colors, too.

  14. Gorgeous cards! I love the colors that you chose for your first project - they totally pop against the black bag!

Your second card is stunning! I studied it forever, trying to figure out how you created the ombre effect. Did you ink only portions of the stamp or use a mask? If you don't mind sharing, I would love to find out how you did this :)
