ColourQ #270, a couple of bears and a little contest too

Hello...I always struggle with a card when I don't have all the colors of ink for my ColourQ cards, so I thought about using card stock and I did not have any of that either in Pistachio Pudding so then I remembered I had bins of 6x6 pads of patterned paper, problem solved! I love this flower set from PTI, Friendly Flowers, they stack and the sentiments in the set are so beautiful. I hope you will find the time to play along with us this week, I love seeing what you make. Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by...enjoy your week.

Every year at the company my sister and daughter work they have a tree trimming party. They have the food catered so everyone can enjoy the evening decorating the tree and hanging out with one another. My sister always asks me to make the thank card in the theme of their party and this year it is teddy bears. Never fails...that is the one stamp I do not own! I also needed a baby card so I turned on my Silhouette, Lucy and found the cutest little bear. So I made my two cards using the same bear just changed up the colors and sentiments.

Ok...are you ready for a little contest??? My daughter loves Lego's...I know she is 22 years old but she needed this for a school project (college was not like this when I attended). I was cleaning and organizing my stamps and found a duplicate set that I purchased from Fresh Squeezed - Subway Series Occasions, so name the band and you have a chance to win. Contest ends Monday, December 8th, my daughter will select the winner. Good Luck!

  4. Love your flower card and how you put everything together and gave it dimension. Cute teddy cards too, I find it inspirational too see how you can use the same materials to make completely different designs.
As far as naming the band.... I'm really not creative when it comes to this. But Lego is short for an expression in Danish that means 'play well'. So I go for this: Playwell

  5. You've done wonderful things with those Friendly Flowers, Kim ... this is gorgeous! This is one of the sets delivered to the Lake House (via the lovely Bev) and it's not seen ink yet ... I feel a CASE coming on ... thanks for the inspiration! Such cute teddy bears ... the smidge of holly is so sweet! Sorry, don't know the band ... but the lego looks fantastic! Hugs, Anita :)

  6. Love your ColourQ card--that set is fantastic and I need to remember to pull it out. Great arrangement of flowers, too. Your teddy bear cards are just darling, and sorta kinda make me wish I had my own Lucy. I have to say that when I went to college, Legos were not on the syllabus either. Wonder if I will need to send Rachel to Legoland before she goes to college next year. I am not even going to try to guess that band, as I don't know any bands except Tom Petty (and I don't know if he is a band or just a guy)

  9. The cards are great--I love the teddy bears! And love the Lego Concert--we have lots of Lego fans in our house! For the concert--is it supposed to be the Beach Boys?

  10. This is so fun, Kim! You did have a productive Sunday! I always love your beautiful flower cluster cards and the two teddy bears are super cute for both designs! Well done, Lucy!! As for the band .... hmmm, is one of them wearing a construction helmet? YMCA? No, wait that was a song ... the band was The Village People! Just a guess, but what a fantastic concert display with a audience of Lego people! I'll have to show the twinks that photo!! Hugs, Darnell

  11. Thanks lil sis, once again, for the great card for our event. Our caterer always looks forward to what's inside that special envelope (aside from her tip . . . LOL) I think I'm disqualified on guessing the bands name . . . but I won't spoil it for the rest of your readers.

  15. Grrrr....just had Google eat another one of my comments!

I had just finishing telling you that there isn't a card artist around that can top your 'foral arrangements'! These colors are gorgeous...especially love the soft, muted color of the leaves! Everything is just soooooooo perfectly balanced - especially the rhinestones!

The two wee bears are cutie patootie as ever! I especially like the Christmas bear with the cute little sprig of holly in her hair!

Now about the band....well, I'm sure you know that I don't have a clue as to who is who in the music world and because I just typed the word twice, I'm going with "The Who"

  18. Great cards, Kim, and super Lego building by your daughter. Not very good with bands but I'll guess anyway. Is it One Direction?

  19. Your ColorQ card just jumped off the screen to me! So bright and cheerful! It's funny, yesterday I questioned my son about whether my 13 y/o granddaughter still played with Legos (they are on her Wish list) and then saw this post today and it made me smile! As for the band, five members, dark haired lead singer and considering your daughter's age, guessing Maroon Five?

  20. I was sad the day my boys put away their Legos - but my bare feet were thrilled!! I love the cheerful florals - I gave up on that color combo - but you made it work perfectly!
