Waltzingmouse 100th Sketch Challenge - WMSC100

You have to check out the Waltzingmouse blog...they have so many wonderful prizes in celebration of their 100th sketch challenge and even the chance to be a Guest Mischief Maker for 4 weeks...can you even imagine??? So after checking out my blog be sure to head over their and make a card to celebrate too.  I set out lots of supplies this morning in hopes that they would do what I call "the Joyce", it means that your supplies while scattered on your desk while you are away make them selves into a card.  It has happened before but not today, so after moving thing around for awhile I finally figured out what I wanted to do.  I love WMS Off Beat Backgrounds and decided to make some plaid paper first and in Christmas colors, you can never have too many Christmas cards, right?  The ribbon on the card is what really inspired me this morning.  It is from Doddlebug and has been floating around my craft room for more time than I care to remember. I really like the color combinations on it and made my card around that.  Thanks for taking a peek!

After finishing up my card this afternoon we headed out to my mom's dance recital...she has been tap dancing for as long as I can remember, I am so proud of her and so inspired by how much time and dedication she puts into her dances every year.  I took some pictures during the recital but it's dark inside that they really did not turn out too well....I did get a picture of my mom with Ashleigh after the show.  Ashleigh was so excited because my mom wore a Foo Fighters t-shirt all blinged out for her dance, to quote Ashleigh "my grandma rocks" and yes she does.

  1. Oh Kim, I love it! That silhouette is awesome, and I love how it stands out in that green die, and the ribbon with 3 different sized bells? The perfect accent! And HAHAHA to "the Joyce"! Adorable pic of your mom and Ashleigh, too :)

What a fun thing that you mom tap dances. Good for her, and good for you for being so supportive of her!

  3. Oh that picture of your Mom in her Foo Fighters shirt is inspiring enough, but then you tell us she tap dances?! And was in the recital?! I love that sooo much! What a sweet picture! She looks too cool for school, hee! So does Ashleigh in her T-shirt, tooooo :)

THEN you go and make a wonderful sketch card that is so festive! I just love the plaid background (it's stamped perfectly!) and the cheery hues of cherry red and bright green you chose! And a Christmas card is not a Christmas card unless it jingles...times three! Awesome card, Kim! Happy 100th sketch! I am so glad that you found us this year, I just love your cards every week!

  4. You are too funny--I hope my supplies will do "The Joyce" today, too. Love this card, and really love that plaid background paper you made. Your stamping is absolutely perfect. That Santa is so cheery, and I love the bells and that little snowflake tag, too. I hope that some day, our moms can meet and tap dance together--what do you think?

  10. Excellent striped patterned paper you created Kim, this old Santa looks so great with his pipe. I like that neat ribbon, very Christmasy and those jingle bells are a perfect embellishment for this one. Your mom sounds like a hoot! Tap dancing and Foo Fighter shirt, hope Carly thinks the same of me when I am a bit older.
