Hello....I have one card to share today for the new challenge at Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge - Blend. I used Tim Holtz Distress inks to make the water on my card, blending 3 colors together to get the color I was happy with.
I made this card for my co-teacher, we found out last week that the school we teach at will be closing at the end of this school year, June 1st after being open for 67 years. I have taught here for 15 years, so this is a very sad time for all of us but on the bright side I am old enough to retire where my co-teacher is not. The two of us have worked together for the past 12 years so it is hard to imagine not having her to teach and laugh with, we have had an incredible time working with all these sweet little children.
Cute card Kim!
ReplyDeleteSuper card, Kim. I'm sure your co-teacher will appreciate the sentiment. xx
ReplyDeleteGreat blending Kim! Such a sweet card! Sorry to hear the news about your school closing and sorry for your co teacher too, I hope she finds something else quite quickly! But pleased to hear that you are able to retire and . . . have more crafting time! Yay! Have a lovely week! Luv n’ Hugs. Hazel xx

How sad to hear that your school is closing; hopefully, steps will be taken to relocate your colleague. Retirement on your horizon...freedom awaits! Yes, you'll definitely miss the littles, but you'll find ways to connect with them in some different capacities. Your card: so pretty and such an uplifting sentiment. Though one door is closing, another is sure to open...

All things come to an end and new possibilities will arise, sooner or later. I guess this makes it easier for yourself to retire.
ReplyDeleteLove how you designed this water and waves and with the mermaid or fish tail peeping up over the waterfront.
Sorry I'm so late visiting this one, Kim! Such a gorgeous blend and what a lovely encouraging sentiment. Love the colours you used for the fish too. I hope everything will work out for your friend when the school closes, what a sad time xx
ReplyDeleteHa ha, now that is one FUN card! So are you going to retire this summer? If so, than congrats! I wish I would be there, too....
