Happy New Year! This is our first challenge for the new year...along with a few changes too. I guess the best time for change is at the beginning of the new year, they are never easy but things happen and make it necessary. The first change for our monthly challenge is that Renee from It's A Patchwork Life decided that she needs to bow out. She will be really be missed, she is an incredibly talented lady and a fabulous friend. The next change is that
Marybeth from Marybeth's Time for Paper, another wonderful lady who is so creative. The final change is that we will be changing our posting time from one a month to once a quarter, so our next post will be in April. It's amazing that this all started with Joyce and Cathy using the same supplies and made one card each. Then they invited Renee and me to join in the fun and decided to call it Four of a Kind. Again, we each only made one card using at least 4 of the different elements that were sent. It has been so much fun from the very beginning and I look forward to each and every challenge.
So here we are, a new year with a few changes. For our first month's challenge we decided to pull out the leftovers from past kits and put together a few cards. I thought it would be fun to take the leftovers from one of Renee, Joyce and Cathy's kits and make 2 cards each. It was so much fun to pull these out and remember how much fun each and every kit was...so many wonderful goodies and many times using supplies and stamps that I did not have, a fun way to "test drive" new goodies without having to spend any money!
Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a peek at all of these fabulous cards.
all of these cards are simply wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteKim, Kim, Kim...you blew me away with today's cards. It is so much fun to look at each one and remember the kit ingredients and how you used them again to make totally unique cards. Love the lil inker bows and sewing bow hugs from Renees, how you used the tag and ribbon with the die cut letters from mine and the in bloom paper, ribbon and bows from Joyce's kit. Looking forward to your kit for April...and a very fun 4 of a Kind in 2013!
ReplyDeleteWow--I love all your cards, and what a great format--to do two cards from each of our kits. It is such fun to remember the kits as I see your cards. Your cards using that Lil Inkers bow are just fantastic. I still have not figured out how to use those bows! And, I love how you used those die cut letters from Cathy. I still have them, too. Time for some CASing, I guess.
ReplyDeleteLove them all Kim. The second to the last one the best. You girls sure had lots left to play with .
ReplyDeleteI know I hate change too, I am sorry to see Renee leave your group too. We still get her for the 12 kits :) and I get Cathy for Serendipity Stamps, so that makes me happy and not too sad with the changes.
You girls alway send such great kits hope I can measure up. Great job with all the leftovers. Beautiful cards Kim
Sad to Renee take a break happy to see Marybeth stepping up. I love the cards you created with your leftovers! It is always so fun to be inspired by the Four of a Kind girls. ;)

And knit.
And organize the house...
and keep the kids out of prison!! *giggle*
Believe me...

I just hope it's not on the 6 o'clock news! :(
But Marybeth is perfect for this and can't wait to see what all y'all come up with!! :)
Hugs!!
What an amazing group of papers and supplies. You've done an amazing job with the leftovers! There is always so much inspiration from your kit creations. So glad to see that the group will still be active in 2013--sadly without Renee but Marybeth will be a wonderful addition.
