Two Cards...Two Challenges - ColourQ #185 and The Alley Ways #26

Happy I was able to spend most of my day being crafty and so far I have 3 cards made and will be posting 2 tonight, the third one is for Waltzingmouse, they have a Flower Show challenge on Tuesday.  There is still plenty of time to play along, you can find all of the information here.  My first card is for this week's challenge for ColourQ and what a lovely selection of colors to use for inspiration for my card. I even pulled out some stamps that have never seen ink too, so fun to play with some new stamps that are not really new anymore. Who does not love a fresh box of crayons??? The smell alone sucks me in, so that is what I used to make my card, a color crayon stamp.

My second card is for this week's challenge at The Alley Ways Stamps, Be Inspired.  The set I used is Ooh La La, I won it some time back and have only used it once before, so it was fun to pull it out again to play with. I also tried out my new bottle of Glossy Accents, this stuff is amazing! I love the way it looks on my bottles of nail polish.  Thank you so much for stopping by to take a peek at my cards...have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Oh la la, what a perfect name for that nail polish set and what a perfect card to showcase it, Kim! And I couldn't agree more with your "sucks you in" comment about the new box of crayons! Yummo, just like your card!!

  2. Your cards make me smile Kim and they reflect your attitude about life! Wonderful!

  3. These cards are both so fun and wonderful. I love how you used those colors on your first card--and that sentiment is just perfect. And, your second card--perfect use of glossy accents--they add so much reality to your card. Sounds like you had the perfect day off.

  4. What splendid, happy cards to get up to on a Saturday morning, Kim ... love the pink ribbon gift wrapped around the just-have-to-be-used box of crayons (ahh yes, the smell) ... the glossy accents are SO perfect for the nail polish ... definitely ooh la la! Anita :)

  5. Oh what wonderful cards! I love the smell of new crayons too! Both of these cards hust made me smile big! are wonderful! And go glossy accents too! So fun!

  6. Great cards. I love the sentiment on the first one and those bottles of nail polish on the second are just darling.

  7. Love both of your cards Kim! I will admit to being stumped at the Colorq colors this week, but you have used them brilliantly! Not only the colors, but you have an awesome design. And those little bottles of nail polish--oh so sweet! I can just see my little girls wanting those colors. The twine is just the perfect finishing touch too. Super cards! Bev

  8. I could smell the crayons the second I read your comment! You've definitely 'colored' my world this morning with sweet grade school memories! Awesome design - the crayons totally draw the focus to the ribbon, then down to the sentiment. The wee schmick of black absolutely makes these colors pop!

The 'glossy' nail polish is beautifully clean and simple with a sentiment that is perfect for this card! And, what would "Ooh La La" be without a wee bit of bling!

I'm so lovin' both of these cards!

  9. Kim love both of your cards, did you use the PTI candle stamp for your crayons? Brilliant!! The nail polish done with Glossy Accents is fantastic too. Hope you are having a great day in San Francisco.

  10. I absolutely love a fresh new box of Crayola 64's!! They do smell yummy and I love the fresh new points on the crayons! Your card definitely represents that pleasant memory! The Glossy Accents on the nail polish bottles looks awesome!

  11. They are both great cards ~ I especially like the first one (colors, layout, ribbon & sentiment). Love the glossy accents on the nail polish bottles ~ it really makes them look realistic.

  12. Well these are just adorable! I love the faux stitching and the colorful bakers twine. Thanks for joining us at the TAWS BE Inspired challenge!

  13. The box of crayons is genius for the Color Q challenge...
    and I LOVE that quote!
    And YAY for glossy accents...
makes those bottles of polish just "pop" right off the card! :)

  14. Love your crayon card, Kim, so fun! thanks for sharing your cards with us at the colourQ this week.

  15. Really fun card, thanks for playing along with us at ColourQ this week! I have candy up for grabs on my blog, so please stop by!
