I really have 6 cards to share but I only made 2 of them. First the 2 cards I made...the first one is from this week's Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday #164. I went through all my stamps looking for images that would work and I thought this graduation cap would be just perfect...I am also entering this card in the current challenge at Colour Me #20.
My second card is for ColourQ, challenge #241. I made 2 cards last night and unfortunately they both hit the trash, hate when that happens...I love these colors but could not get them to work for me to save my life. So today I pulled out my newest die, these beautiful butterflies from SSS, so fun to play with and I have a card to share.
My next four cards were made by Cathy from Empty Nest Crafter. They are from my families husband kit. There are 4 of us who made cards for one another's hubby and children so we would be able to received cards for our special occasions, like Mother's Day, anniversary and birthday.
It is such a treat to receive such beautiful cards on those special days...thank you again Cathy!

All such fabulous cards Kim! I love your caps all tossed in the middle and the fab gold butterfly outline? Cathy put such awesome cards in your husbands kit. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHubby's kit is really getting to be fabulous! Love these latest additions! Your cards are divine, Kim--wonderful work as always! The MIM card is brilliant!
ReplyDeleteKim, great idea to use the graduation hats for the MIM! It looks like they're all being tossed in the air, how fun! Gorgeous outline on the butterflies too : )
ReplyDeleteOooh that pile of grad caps is too fun Kim, great card! Love the stack of butterflies too. The golden edges make it look sort of like stained glass. Thanks so much for joining us at the ColourQ!
ReplyDeleteLove both of the cards you made today. Those butterflies look fantastic bordered in gold. Well, I do not have to tell you how much I love that die and this card. And, your caps in the air graduation card is such a fantastic design. I will be making one of these for the next grad in the family who has decent school colors. Cathy has totally spoiled you with that fantastic selection of husband kit cards. Clearly, you are a well loved gal.
ReplyDeleteGreat set of cards! LOVE the first and second - the riot of caps (pinning for future use) and the delicate gold outline are just amazing!
ReplyDeleteLove both of your cards. Those gold butterflies are so beautiful. And great thinking with the graduation caps....The Husbands kits are really great too. Neat idea.
ReplyDeleteYour first card is brilliant !I am going to case that because I need to make a graduation card. Love your second card and now I want that die , love the gold trim. Love all the wonderful cards Cathy sent you.
ReplyDeleteThe graduation cap card was totally inspired, Kim! Some young person is gonna love that! And your butterfly card is such a knockout!! I'm sorry the colors gave you trouble, but I'm glad you Percy Veered and ended up with this beauty!
ReplyDeleteThe cards you got from Dwight, via Cathy, are sensational!! How fun that is! Take it easy and have a great day! Hugs, Darnell
So much inspiration!!! I love your graduation card, what a great use of one single stamp! And the metallic look around the die cut butterflies is such a fab detail, is simple, yet so stunning!
ReplyDeleteVery cool graduation card, Kim! Lucky is the grad who finds this in their hands! And those butterflies...soooo beautiful. (and I'm not the world's biggest fan of butterflies...may have to rethink that after seeing your card!) Such a wonderful idea to have 'husbands' kits. You know you'll get a card, but it's still a surprise and made by a special friend! Have a great week. Bev
ReplyDeleteThat gold edging around the blue butterflies is so pretty! Thanks for playing along with the ColourQ this week!
ReplyDeleteI really love your layered stamped images, what a perfect graduation card! So glad you joined us this week at Colour Me...!
ReplyDeleteWhat a brilliant idea the graduation cap is for the congratulations card, Kim ... it's sooo celebratory! I adore what you did with the butterflies ... the slender gold outline is stunning! What a fun idea those husband/family kits are ... Cathy's card are fabulous! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteWow, all these cards are amazing! Great way to create that grad card.....really captures a great graduation scene! And your CQC card....well, those gold-trimmed butterflies are stunning! Thanks for playing with the CQC and Colour Me...! colors this week!
ReplyDeleteWow your graduation card is perfect -- all those caps are perfectly stamped and placed. And I love the butterfly card. It's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWow! Six lovely cards made by two very, VERY talented ladies! I love your card swapping idea! What a great way to share your creativity and stay in touch! Your grad card is awesome and sooooo perfect for those tough guy cards! I will definitely be casing this one this summer!
ReplyDeleteYour butterfly card is incredible! The delicate metallic outline looks so cool, especially paired with the pretty shades of blue :)
Wow, wow and wow - a gallery of gorgeous indeed! The first two are jaw-dropping awesome, my friend! I tried the PTI technique last week (despite not having PTI products), but the result was dismal - my recycle bin was rubbing its tummy at having been fed a feast of failed attempts. Yours with the grad caps = BRILLIANT! I made some Grad cards this weekend, too - and they're certainly not as eye-catching as yours. May have to give this white-embossed, concentrated stamping another go...Our second card - well, my response is predictable - swooning! Gold embossed, blue butterflies...sighhhhhhh. The other four: super fabulously wonderful. The husband kits = brilliant!! Awesome post, my friend - mega watt smile all over my face! Hugs~c
ReplyDeleteYour cards are gorgeous!! Amazing how you can make one stamp look so stunning. Love the colours in the second card (my favourites!) and the butterflies look so good with the gold outline, very clever! All those cards you received are so lovely and it must be so nice to be part of a group of crafters who can give you support, ideas and to squeal with you when new products come out!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, you have been seriously busy! I love that great pile of graduation caps on the first card, and the gold outline for the die butterfly die cuts is so striking on the second, but really they are all lovely!
ReplyDeleteJust saw your name mentioned at Colour Me! under Honourable Mentions...thats two in one day, aren't you rather fabulous! Such a good feeling. I just found out that I was picked for Top 3 at CAS: Colour and Sketches, so this is an extra special day for us both!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your graduation card! All the caps create the feel of a big celebration. And your gold embossing with the butterflies is fabulous! Great cards from Cathy too!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim : )
ReplyDeleteI love your cards!! the watercolor technique for Papertrey's Make it Monday is outstanding!! I want to join the challenge but I'm just not sure I will make it.... I NEED more Papertrey products LOL
Your butterflies are so beautiful! I can't imagine how you did that! : )
And your card swap idea is over the top great !What a clever idea and what lovely cards!! : )
