One more card for the day.....

One more card and a quick post...I love the movies Despicable Me and I love so much that I torture my children at school by making them watch them over and over again. I keep hearing, "Miss Kim, we have already watched this movie, do we have to watch it again?" I always have to remind them who is in charge...LOL So after I saw JJ Bolton's sweet minion card (you can see her card here) I had to recreate one of my own. It is not near as cute as hers but I am still very happy with it. I had to use my imagination a bit to come up with the "parts", a milk bottle bottom for the head and then a circle die to get the head band and roller coaster wheels for the eyeballs and then some black twine for the hair...so much fun to make! I am entering my card in the current challenge at Virgina's View. Thank you so much for taking time to stop by...enjoy the rest of your weekend.

  4. First *hanging head* I've not seen Despicable Me...yet, but your accolades have convinced me to add it to my summer viewing list (I have seen Frozen and Cars...both delights!!) Your little miniion is darling, and his 'creation' pure brilliance. Having him peeking from the happy circle: simply charming!! Your card has planted a mega watt smile alllllll over my face!!

  7. It IS cute! I love how you make the "happy" sentiment in the window as one piece!! SUPERB! So glad that you join the fun over Virginia's View Challenge! Cartoons are not just for kids...my hubby is recently hooked with Frozen and just bought piano sheet music to play.....I don't care for his "practice" though.

  8. Love your version of JJ's card - the blue background really let's the "happy" pop! It is a fun challenge to shift through your supplies to find what can be reworked to cut the shapes you need :)

  9. Haven't seen the movie, Kim, but if it's as fun and cute as your card, it's a must see ... can I join your class?! Just how much creativity can one person have ... milk bottle head, circles head band, roller coaster eyes ... awesome ingenuity to create this sweet little minion (or at least I hope he's sweet!). Smiling all over my face! Anita :)

  11. This is cute, and what a fun card. Love how you did the aperture, and it was interesting to see your creative imagination take wing to make your version of this card. Great way to use the happy die...Loved all the bright colors too! TFS & Hugs.(PS..no kids around, so I'm clueless as to this movie! It must be a good one though!).

  12. Absolutely gorgeous!! We love those movies in our house too, in fact we need to replace the first movie dvd because we have worn it out!! You used the most amazing things to make your little minion, very creative and he looks so kooky popping out of your card. And of course having the word 'Happy' is perfect (its one of those songs that sticks in my head all the time and always makes me smile....). Can imagine your holiday weekend would have been very 'happy' indeed!!
