Hello...I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend. Yesterday we spent the day in San Francisco, it is a Black Friday tradition for my family. I get dropped off downtown at Union Square and hubby and daughter head to Haight Street to Amoeba Records for Black Friday Record Store Day. All the stores I wanted to shop at did not open until 9am, so I had almost 2 hours to kill, so I walked all around downtown, checking out the window displays and then took a break at Peet's Coffee for a warm treat. By the time my family picked me up I had walked 5.5 miles, could not wait to get home for some yummy turkey leftovers. I went to Sephora, The Container Store, Paper Source and my all time favorite Britex!
I spent the evening in my craft room doing a bit of cleaning and came across these sweet vintage post cards from October Afternoon and decided to whip a few cards. They were so much fun to make and I love the look of vintage anything! Would love to have the kitchen on I Love Lucy show but with modern appliances.
Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by....enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Sweet cards & always good to use some of your stash making room for new goodies--haha! I'm glad not to be in a big town, but would love to drop in to see the Christmas decorations!

My hubby and I were just talking about taking a trip to San Francisco since we have never been. I will need to get some travel tips when we start to plan. Loving the vintage look!
ReplyDeleteOh Kim, fascinating post, trying to imagine going shopping in San Francisco, well done on finding your vintage postcards, you made some great ones, and knocked some off your list. I made or upcycled three this afternoon.

ReplyDeleteThese cards are wonderful...I love the vintage themes! Isn't it fun to find new things that we squirreled away?
The old post cards are charming and love they are modern cards. Your photo of Britex reminds me of our trip to Mood in September. I bought a cool felt bag for my granddaughter. I love SF but my honey does not which is a shame as our son lives in Mt. View. Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteOh wow!! I LOVE these pretty, vintage images that you used on these cards. And I did not know you lived near San Francisco!! I would have looked you up when I was there this past summer!! Sounds like you had a fabulous time shopping!! I also wished I knew there was a PaperSource there. I would have gone in!!
ReplyDeleteYou've made such wonderful cards out of those vintage postcards, Kim.

ReplyDeleteYou cards brought back sooooooo many happy, happy memories of past Christmas celebrations at my Baba & Gigi's (grandma & grandpa) farm! The tree was always decorated with beautiful vintage ornaments...although at that time...they weren't vintage! Love all your cards, but sweet little Bambi is my fav!

ReplyDeleteI find these cards a bit different from what you normally make, but I do love these retro styled colorful makes! They're are all fabulous in their own way but I've got a weakness for deer on Christmas cards, must be the Scandinavian in me.
