Waltzingmouse 100th Sketch Challenge - Take 2

One more day of school and then summer break...well that is until summer school starts.  I decided to make a second card for the 100th sketch challenge over at Waltzingmouse stamps...you have to go and check this out, there are so many fabulous prizes and the more you enter, the more chances you have of winning.  One of my favorite sets from WM is French Country and so that was my theme when I started my card.  I pulled out the few sets I have from WMS and Off Beat Backgrounds was on the top of the pile and after I looked at it for a minute or two I had my idea...I used the mini checker board stamps to create the background and the rest just fell into place, otherwise known as "The Joyce", I just love this technique and think maybe Joyce  should patent or trademark it or something, but it works like a charm if you ask me.  Back to my card now...I had this red grosgrain ribbon floating around that I purchased from Britex Fabrics in San Francisco that I have been dying to use and this was the perfect card for it...so here is my card and thank for taking a peek.

Don't you just love this new little guy, so adorable!
And the wonderful sketch to celebrate the 100th sketch...

  2. You did such a great job stamping that checkerboard...I know how hard it is to get it perfect and you did it! I love the black, white and red, the cute rooster and those stickpins! They were my favorite part of the card.

  3. This is just beautiful. You should win for this. I love how you combined that checkerboard pattern with the French Country. And, that rooster--he gets me every time.

  4. Oh, one more thing--could you please return my 'technique' to me. I've got supplies all over, and they are not doing anything for me. I've been trying to get to my second WM all day, and nothing is self assembling, and I have been too busy running around to chase the paper with a glue stick in hand.
