The 12 Kits of Holidays - May 2013 Edition

It is just about the end of the month and that means it is time again for our 12 kits post. Our fabulous hostess this month is Marybeth, and what an amazing kit she sent...sequins, ribbon, die cuts, patterned paper and even a wonderful stamp set from Serendipity! So many wonderful ingredients and for so many different types of cards.  I now have a little stash of get well cards that I would never have made without this kit. I was lucky enough to receive the "self assembling" kit from Marybeth, thank you! Really my cards just seemed to fall into place, it is so nice when you have so many yummy goodies and that happens. Since this week's challenge over at SSS is Anything Goes, I will be entering a few of these cards there.

  3. Kim--you did get the self assembling kit--and your ingredients knew just what to do with themselves. I love how you created that little scene on the die cut with the soup can and bowl. Brilliant idea to make a note pad, and that big patterned paper is the perfect backdrop for that sweet little boy caught in the rain. All your cards are just perfect.

  5. Kim I agree with Joyce, you got the self-asssembling kit. All fabulous I really like your soup card with the red background and mat stack, and the Under the Weather with the flower paper background is fantastic. You did a great job using the sequins too. Love all your great cards.

  7. Wow - creativity lives here! These cards are amazing...but the soup can is my absolute favorite. Awesome colors and awesome embellishments. Love the size of the tall narrow card - would you share the measurements with us?

    1. It is actually a little note pad cover and the measurements are 8 1/8 x 2 1/8, opened up it is 8 1/8 x 5 3/8 and scored. I hope this answers your question. I love making these note pad covers and I purchase them from Papertrey Ink, here is the link

  9. Wow, Kim ... where to start with these amazing cards? Soup ... beautifully bold: rain boy ... super, simple, uncoloured image against the vibrant background: notebook ... utterly adorable, I love every little bit of it: flowers ... a cool riot of non-colour against the equally cool polka dots: birds ... completely gorgeous colours and border. Admiring, admiring, admiring! Anita :)

  10. Hi Kim! Wonderful job with this kit - so many pretties here that are stand outs that I will want to case! I really like the textured background with the soup and how you left the images uncolored to stand on their own!

  11. I was going to type Wow five times, but that might be too silly even for me. Oh, heck with it, that's how I feel: WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW!! You have blown the socks off this kit, Kim, my friend!!

  12. Kim that notepad is so cool! I love how tall and slender it is. Then the uncolored flowers truly pop on that patterned paper, they look gorgeous! The soup cans are so sweet, and the filigree border was the perfect touch on the last card :)

  13. I am just loving everyone's versions of the soup can/bowl......I love that you chose to layer them on the Mat Stack shape! What a sweet Thank You card using that cute birdie paper and the filigree border!!!

  14. Your cards are fantastic, Kim! I am especially smitten with the way you combined the dark stripes and bird paper on the notepad and last card. I'm always anxious about coloring images, but your sophisticated use of them reminds me that they look just as fabulous uncolored. Beautifully done!

  15. I am so sorry it's taken me forever to get around to commenting, Kim! But I have had a fun time this Sunday afternoon :) LOVE that long card with the sweet birdie paper (which I hoarded!) paired with the stripes and die cut. Is it actually a notebook cover? It's just too sweet. Your card with the bird paper is lovely with the sequin accents and the awesome lacy border...so soft and feminine. And that soup card really pops with the red background and the black accents...love how you added the Mat Stack cut and just a touch of homey little baker's twine!
