Four of a Kind - July Edition

This quarter, Cathy from Empty Nest Crafter is our hostess and what a kit she sent! Really enough supplies to make dozens of cards and if I remember correctly, Joyce said she made 5 dozen! Another surprise for this month, the first one is a bit sad, Marybeth needed to drop out of our group for personal reasons, she will be missed and we wish her all the best! And taking Marybeth's place is Renee....she is back!  We are so excited that she decided to join us again.

On to my cards, I left Cathy's kit sitting out on my desk for a couple of weeks to see what my supplies would do and believe it or not, they did not do a thing! But after looking at them for so long it finally hit me what to do and from there it did not take long to make 3 cards and 9 projects.  I know 9 projects sounds like a lot but they are small as you will see once you scroll down.

I have three cards to share with you...I love the vintage travel themed goodies that Cathy set. They were so fun to play with and made some fabulous cards.  I am really looking forward to see what the other three ladies have come up with.

Now onto my 9 projects....I used to scrapbook a lot and have more albums than you would believe to prove it too. I stopped scrapbooking to make cards and never looked back.  I still took lots of pictures and needed a place to put them but did not want to go back to the fancy pages with all those supplies again.  Then I read about Becky Higgins and Project Life and fell in love! I love this system, quick and easy and you really don't need much in the way of supplies.  When I first took a peek at Cathy's kit that was what popped into my head, make some journaling cards and place for small photos.  So have 8 of those along with a note pad, I just love making these and try to make one with each kit it receive.  Be sure to stop by the blogs of Cathy, Joyce and Renee to see their creations too. For a complete list of supplies used for this kit, please check out Cathy's blog. Thank you so much for taking time to stop by to peek at my cards and projects....have a great week!

  4. I have been trying to think what you meant by 9 projects and now I understand!!! That was such a great idea Kim. I a going to do a type of Project Life book next year and you have given me such great inspiration...and since the papers are digital, I can re-recreate every one! I love the miles apart card, did not know what to do with that piece of paper and you figured out such a nice card for it and the one with the red/white bow? Drop dead gorgeous. You really made this kit yours and I am so glad you enjoyed it!

  8. Kim--these are all so fabulous. I had to look first thing in the morning, but didn't have a moment to comment until now. OK--I admit that when you said 9 projects I thought you were pulling my leg. But those PL cards are just so sweet and perfect. That was such a great idea, and each one is so very cute. And, I just love the cards you made, too. I think my favorite is the third one--such a great idea about how to use that sentiment, and tying it to the paper with that plane cut out.
