Happy August, happy end of summer, happy that school is starting again, so many things to be happy about. August is my month to be hostess for The 12 Kits of Christmas and I wanted to do something a little bit different for everyone to do. So instead of using the traditional colors for Christmas I decided to go pastel, soft pinks and blues with ivory and white. I was so excited when I found the patterned paper to use, it is Winterland by Fancy Pants Designs and as soon as I saw it back in the Spring I had to buy it, was afraid if I waited I would be out of stock. The next thing I did to be a bit different was to use digital images instead of stamped images. I remembered a few months back when Joyce used digital paper for her kit and that is what gave me the idea. I have been following this digital blog for some time and love all of the designs, just so fun and different and the digital paper prints so amazing, you would never know! The website is
Pink Petticoat and the owners name is Liz...Liz and her team are just so creative and have lots of free goodies too, that is how I got hooked! Anyway, be sure to check her site out, you will not be disappointed, I promise. Be sure to check out all the blogs that are listed below and see what amazing cards this incredible group of talented ladies has come up with. Thank you so much for taking a peek!

Well, Kim, thanks so much for a wonderful kit. I see that you had as much fun with it as I did. The colors and ingredients were just different and fun. I love all the cards that you made with your kit. I even see a few ideas for things that I saved. I won't say what...you'll have to wait and see.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I almost cased that exact same card, LOL! But then I had more supplies for the one I actually cased. This was a great kit, Kim, and you can tell by the gorgeous (and many!) cards that you created! All that metallic really shines. Love the different touches of it that you put on several of the cards. My favorite is the one that says "Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year" on top and has the ribbon and patterned papers on the bottom. It is so sweet :) But the first one is a close runner up, I love the layout you chose! Thanks so much for an awesome kit, Kim :)

Thanks aging for the gorgeous kit Kim. Its sure was fun using these beautiful colors. I love that about our 12 kits , we get to try new things that we might otherwise not try. O M gosh all your cards are so pretty. I love that last one the way you did the bow and did not color the image, I love to leave things not colored as well. Love the one with buttons and the pretty ornaments ! Great CASE card !
ReplyDeleteThose are so beautiful. You really put together a wonderful kit!
ReplyDeleteOk Kim you rocked the August kit! I am so impressed with your non traditional colours and fantastic elements that you put into them. The shiny silver paper is the bomb! Love all of your cards you created, I may need to do some CASEing here. Speaking of which excellent CASE!
ReplyDeleteSo neat to see your vision of this spectacular kit you were so generous with! I love the pinks and blues and the clean look of your cards (still something I haven't mastered) I love that each card has a touch of bling from the gems on the tree in the first, the sparkly "merry", and drool.. that beauty with the row of buttons up the side (I'm CASING this one!!) You totally rocked this! Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteNot only a great kit you sent to us Kim, but the cards you made with your own kit were so beautiful. I love the first one with the silver and the rhinestone tree, the glittered Merry on the second, those neat button on the patterned paper strips, the high heel shoes within that neat silver frame and last but not least, that cute mitten strip and pleated ribbon. So pretty and such a fun change of colors this month. Thanks for the fabulous kit!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful collection of Christmas cards, I love the non traditional colours and all the pretty papers and die cuts.
ReplyDeleteFabulous kit, Kim--the colors were so wonderful and I loved the beautiful papers and embellishments! The pleated ribbon was extra special and so pretty. And the images were such fun to use! Love seeing what you created with those fantastic supplies! All your cards are gorgeous--such great CAS designs with just the right amount of embossing, bling, buttons & ribbon! Wonderful CASE of Suzanne's card too!
ReplyDeleteKim, this was such a fun kit to work with! I'm glad you introduced me to Pink Petticoat--makes me wish I had a working printer! LOL! I love the silver accents you've used with these beautiful papers, especially with that fabulous shoe image. I'm looking forward to playing more with this kit, as I've got lots of materials left. Kim, it was an amazing kit this month. I remember coming across those digi images last year and longing for them, so I was SUPER excited to see them in the kit. I love that you mixed up our images and patterns just enough -- it made visiting each of these blogs a surprise. I loved playing with the diecut PTI words too - I don't have any of those. Your cards are so beautiful!! And thanks for CASEing me! I am flattered! I love how you turned the card on its side and added the bling!
ReplyDeleteKim, I can not say enough good things about your kit this month. I absolutely loved the soft non-traditional colors soo much! Thank you thank you!
