Simply Create Too - Something Old/Vintage #67

Happy Saturday...just one card to share today and it is for the current challenge over at Simply Create Too #67. I don't do old/vintage type cards well, I spent some time going through all my stamps and finally came up with this sweet old Santa. I just love the sweet look on his face and he reminded me of an old world type Santa. Don't you agree? You have plenty of time to play along...I look forward to seeing all your fabulous cards! My card is also entered in the current challenge at Inkspirational, the challenge is to use pencils or markers. I used Inktense pencils to color the holly on Santa's hat.  Thank you so much for stopping by...enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Serendipity #26 - Chalk and CASology #76 - Party

Happy Friday! Having this time off from school, I keep losing track of what day it is, maybe it is a getting old thing.  I have 2 cards to share today, the first one is for the current challenge over at CASology, it has been forever since I have had the time to play along and with this week's cue card "Party" it was not hard to come up with an idea.

My second card is also for the current challenge at Serendipity and their theme is "Chalk".  I know this technique has been around for some time but I never gave it a try. Happy to say that I love the look and will be making more cards like this one. Thank you so much for taking time to stop by to peek at my cards...Happy New Year!

Merry Monday's #70 and Seize the Sketch #1

Second post of the day and I have 2 cards to share. The first card is for Merry Monday's #70, I have not played along in some time and fell in love with the sketch and knew just what I would do.  Some time back a sweet friend of mine, Cathy from Empty Nest Crafter was so kind and sent me the most adorable Santa face stamp from Serendipity Stamps, isn't he just the jolliest?  My patterned paper is from Doodlebug and is pretty old, I knew I would find the right use for it some day.

My second card is for this week's challenge over at Seize the Sketch and in fact it is their first challenge, how fun to be in on the fun the very beginning!  I pulled out a stamp set that has been sitting in my stamp bin for some time, it was fun to play with and added a bit of festive sequins for a bit of bling!

A few more cards for today...

Two more cards for today...the first one is for this weeks Merry Monday #55, Tic Tac Toe and I took to the bottom row. It was a quick and easy card to make and I just love the way it turned out.  I think this is the cutest Santa stamp I have ever seen, it was a gift from one of my blog friends, Cathy from Empty Nest Crafter. He is just so jolly looking.

My second card is for this weeks Retro Sketch #57. It has been a few weeks since I have played along and I forgot how fun it is to take their sketch and turn it into my own.  I am thinking a bit ahead and made my card for Father's Day, my husband loves to fish more than just about anything else so I thought this would be just perfect for him. I used a stamp that is from a stamp class my sister I took what seems like a 100 years ago. She bought the stamp and then passed it down to me, it works great with all of these lures.

Waltzingmouse Christmas Card Challenge - March 2012

This month's theme is to make a Christmas card using blue and brown paper.  Neither of these colors are in my 10 ten favorites to use but when paired together, what an awesome combination.  I used WMS Santa's Coming to Town for this card and this is one of my top favorites of WM stamp sets, I just love the cameo of Santa, and I even glittered the buttons, so festive.  Thanks for taking a peek!

Just for fun

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #74 & CAS-ual Fridays #29

I am pretty new to WMS but have fallen head over heels in love with them.  This will be my fourth card made for one of their challenges, this one is a sketch challenge.  I only own two WM stamp sets, one Christmas and the other is a background set.  Both are just beautiful but really limit the cards I can make for these challenges.  Good thing it is Christmas season, so I am safe for a little while.
My favorite stamp from Santa's Coming to Town is the Santa cameo and I have used it every chance I could. I also love glitter and made my own red sparkle letters using Quikutz dies and then ran them through my little Xyron, sprinkled them with glitter and there you have it! It makes a bit of a mess but well worth it in my opinion.  So here is my Santa card...thanks for taking a peek!

Cards that Care

I decided to make some Christmas cards to donate to Cards that Care and wanted to make something that would be fairly quick and easy to assemble. These cards will go to the elderly who are in nursing homes.  I cased my own card, one I made to Halloween that I used Waltzingmouse stamps for.  I love the idea of the cameo and this one of Santa is just too sweet.  Thank you for taking a peek!

Well it has been a long week...

I had intended to make this a very productive week with some card making but by Monday afternoon I could feel a migraine starting and it lasted for about 4 1/2 days.  I had made a few cards to post but just never really felt up to it. So finally headache free and after a fun day at our school/church rummage sale I am ready to post the cards I made last week.

The first card is one for a girlfriend of mine who turned 62 this past friday.  I had planned to post it to the CAS-ual Fridays challenge but that never happened. Thanks for taking a peek!

The next card is one I made for Christmas and just love how fun it is.  Last Christmas my mom had used these little santa hats on gifts, so I made sure to save them all.  I knew at some point I would find a use for them and here it it.  Thanks for taking a peek!
