ColourQ #309 and Retro Sketches #182

Hello...it's Tuesday and time for another fabulous color palette from ColourQ #309. These colors are so perfect for a guy and I needed a birthday card for a co-worker so this worked out perfectly. I hope you will find the time to play along with us this week, can't wait to see your incredible creations with these amazing colors.

I have a second card to share for the current challenge at Retro Sketches. I love these fabulous Birds of Paradise from MFT and I have to admit it was even fun to color. I went out of the lines a wee bit so I hid that part under part of his cage. Lucy my Silhouette helped me out with the cage, I really like the looks of it.

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by...enjoy your week!

ColourQ #307

It's Tuesday....hope all of your here in the states had a safe and wonderful Labor Day. Mine was very quiet..spent most of the day sleeping. I know school has started because I had a bit of a bug over the weekend, sore throat, aches and pains, just feeling rather yucky. But happy that I had a long weekend to get this out of my system and back to school today.

My card today is for the new challenge at ColourQ #307 and don't you just think the sneakers in the inspiration photo are as cute as can be??? I love wearing fun sneakers to work, plus they are always so comfortable too. I hope you will find the time to play along with us this week. The colors are fun and can't wait to see what you create!

I am also entering this card in the Retro Sketch Challenge #180

Retro Sketches #116

Happy Memorial Day weekend...hope you all have a fun and safe holiday and enjoy the extra time with your families. My card was inspired by this holiday, red, white and blue always make for a fabulous card. When I saw this week's sketch for Retro Sketches #116, I knew I did not want to make a circle and I also wanted to use some of my supplies that have not seen any love. I pulled out my stitched star dies from Lil Inkers but they were just a bit too small so I put Lucy to work, she always seems to pull me out of card making issues with just the right help. And it only took 2 tries to get my star the right size.
I made my card for one of my co-workers...she decided today to take another job for the next school year to teach in Nebraska and so many are giving her such a difficult time about her decision so I thought this sentiment was perfect for her. Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by...enjoy your holiday weekend!

Retro Sketches #115

I know I am a day late with my post...and how could I have forgotten to make a card with this??? It was my card that the sketch was done for...such a dope! Really, how cool is it to have a sketch made from your card? I felt so bad when my sweet friend Joyce asked what was up. It had been a crazy week, with the heat, allergies and just not feeling good, I have not spent much time in my craft room. So I finally have my card ready to go and Arielle from Retro Sketches could not be sweeter and more understanding. You have plenty of time to play along with Retro Sketches challenge #115 and I can't wait to see all your fabulous creations! You can see my first card that this was patterned after here. Thank you so much for stopping by...enjoy the rest of your weekend!

3 Cards for Saturday and Some Fabulous News!

Happy Saturday! Today I have 3 cards to share today and some fun news...so first with the news. I am still over the moon excited about it...last week I received an email from Arielle Hemp Gordon from Snappy Stampin (she organizes several challenge blogs and is one of the most amazing card makers on the planet) and she invites me to be the Headliner for Retro Sketches and not just for one post for the entire month of May! Now you see why I am so excited.
So now on to my cards. My first one is for the current challenge at Serendipity, there are still a couple of days left to play along if you like. The theme is Shades of Gray #30 and I thought of using their gorgeous dove in silver, it cuts so beautifully.

My next card is for this week's CASology challenge and this week's cue card is "electric" #93...so many possibilities but I went with some electric poles. I have had this stamp set forever and it was fun to pull it out and show it a little love. It is called Hello Friend from Avocado Arts.

I have saved my Retro Sketch card for last....I have to be honest, it took me a bit to get what I wanted to do to work and then it all just fell into place and I started having fun putting it together. I pulled out some NBUS from Verve, Poppy Birthday and decided to use this week's colors from ColourQ #239 and will be playing along with them too! I hope you will find the time to play along with Retro Sketches this week, it will be so much fun.
Thank you so much for taking time to stop by and Arielle, thank you again, I am truly honored.

One card for Sunday...

Well the weekend is just about over and I have one more card to share for the day. This one is for the current challenges over at Retro Sketches #107 (have not played along with them in a while and love this weeks sketch) and CASology #87.  Not that I really needed another wedding card, don't go to many weddings anymore, I guess that is one of the things that happens when you and all your friends get older but with this week's cue card at CASology "Blush", what else could I make.

This past week I celebrated my birthday and some time back Joyce from Cards-by-the-Sea came up with this brilliant idea "husband kits". There are 4 of us in our group and we made a kit for one husband/children and this way we receive cards for birthday, Mother's Day and so on. It is an amazing idea and so far we are all loving it. Cathy from Empty Nest Crafter sent to my sweeties...the cards are just amazing and it was so much fun to actually receive cards this year from my family, thank you so much Cathy!
I also wanted to thank my sweet and wonderful blogland friends for taking the time to send cards and wish me a happy birthday...I am so blessed to have so many amazing friends...you are the BEST!

I also wanted to share a photo of this sweet Golden Story book that my sister gave me for my birthday, it has been re-purposed into a water color book with special paper inside. Cinderella is my favorite of the Disney princesses so the book will sit with the rest of my Cinderella trinkets. Here is the link to the wonderful lady who made my book....Tangie Baxer & Co.

My husband went fishing again this past week and I had to share the photo of his latest catch, it is just amazing!  It measured 58 inches long and weighed over 50 pounds. Good thing we love to eat fish!

Thank you so much for stopping by...have a wonderful week!
