Keeping Christmas January 2019

Hello...Happy New Year again! We are back at Keeping Christmas Blog Hop and I decided for January it would be fun to make a stash of holiday thank you cards. I was inspired by these sweet cards made by Lizzie Jones over at Don't Forget to Write. She stamped the lower edge of the cards for a fabulous look. I decided to go through my Christmas DoodleBug papers and used edger dies to create to sets. I stamped them with PTI's Way to Say Thank You stamp, added some baker's twine and then finished! I will be ready for this year for sure!

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by...enjoy your day!

So hop along and be sure to visit each blog.
There is a lot of inspiration and ideas to get your creative juices flowing! You should have arrived here from Julee's blog and your next stop is Lori's blog,

PaperCrafts & Scrapbooking Magazine Special Thanks Blog Hop

Today's hop it to celebrate and say goodbye to PaperCrafts & Scrapbooking Magazine. I can not remember a time since I began scrapbooking and card making that this incredible magazine was not around. So much wonderful inspiration, page after page. I always looked forward to each and every issue and the holiday publications were my favorite. I would sit and look at each page reading all the wonderful details of each page layout and card made. You will be missed so much. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that you have done for the paper crafting industry, you made such a positive difference.
I made a thank you card for the hop today to thank all those responsible for bringing so much creativity and inspiration into the homes of so many crafters around the world...from those that published the magazine to all those who submitted their works for art. Thank you again!

you should have arrived here from Becky Olsen's blog - So Bexcellent

and when you are finished here you will hop on over to Ashley Harris' blog - The Scrapper's Block

Waltzingmouse Pajama Party - November 2013

Before I get to the cards in my post today, I want to apologize for not leaving as many comments as I usually do, I have been subbing all week in Kindergarten and I will be honest, they have worn me out! They are about as cute as you can get but they just have so much energy, need to figure out a way to bottle it! Only one more day to go and then a week off for Thanksgiving break. I am planning on getting caught up this weekend, so thank you for your understanding.
Wow...can you believe in less than a week we will be celebrating Thanksgiving??? Where has November gone? Really, I have no clue!  The only reason I am playing along this month is because I planned ahead. So I will not keep you any longer, I have 2 cards and a tag to share for this months Waltzingmouse Pajama Party. Thank you so much for taking time to stop by to peek at my cards....have a great weekend!

My first card is for challenge 1 - Thank You card

Challenge 2 - Christmas and Interactive Card

I took about a dozen photos trying to get movement so you would be able to see the snowman move.

Challenge 3 - Tag, you're it

Dynamic Duo's #63 and a thank you card....

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.  I have a quick post for today, just two cards and only one challenge. My challenge card is for this week's Dynamic Duo's, at first I was going to skip this week because I could not get these two colors to work for me.  I played around with several stamps and then I found something that would work and here it is.

My last card is a thank you card and I recreated another card I made a week or so ago.  This coming week I will be teaching my last week of summer school and my class is on baseball, my favorite sport. Wednesday my class is heading to the Oakland Coliseum for a real baseball game to see the Oakland A's and the Toronto Blue Jays, should be a fun afternoon.  But to make it even better, the Oakland A's donated the tickets and I wanted to be sure to have a thank you card for them. So here is my card.  Thank you so much for taking time to stop by to peek at my cards....have a fabulous week!

The 12 Kits of Holidays - May 2013 Edition

It is just about the end of the month and that means it is time again for our 12 kits post. Our fabulous hostess this month is Marybeth, and what an amazing kit she sent...sequins, ribbon, die cuts, patterned paper and even a wonderful stamp set from Serendipity! So many wonderful ingredients and for so many different types of cards.  I now have a little stash of get well cards that I would never have made without this kit. I was lucky enough to receive the "self assembling" kit from Marybeth, thank you! Really my cards just seemed to fall into place, it is so nice when you have so many yummy goodies and that happens. Since this week's challenge over at SSS is Anything Goes, I will be entering a few of these cards there.

CAS(E) this Sketch #29

Oh, I am so excited!!! This is my first time playing along with CAS(E) this Sketch and my card just seemed to fall into place. I used the remains of what was once my anniversary card from Joyce. Now I could just kick myself for not taking a picture of it when it was whole.  I took the lower portion of Joyce's card which was stamped wood grain in gray on ivory, such a beautiful pairing.  So I took that bottom portion for my slanted piece and for the 3 images I used the roses and leaves. Such a fun and fast card to make and I have to say it was a great way to recycle a card rather than put in the trash.

Muse #18

Happy Wednesday! It seems like forever since I have made a card to post...long week so far but only 10 more school days until summer vacation, so excited. Then a full month off until I start teaching summer school, again, so excited and I am really looking forward to having so much time to just play! I have 2 cards to share tonight, one for this weeks Muse...Marion Vagg made an incredible card, so full of vibrant color. Just so beautiful, and her coloring, off the charts. So perfect for an inspiration card.

My second card is one that I recycled goodies from a card that I received in the mail. Joyce was so sweet and sent me an anniversary card and it was so beautiful I hated to just put in the recycle pile in the garage, so I pulled all the fabulous little goodies off the card and made this one. Joyce made these beautiful roses and there was no way I could not use them! I still have enough to make 2 more cards!

Papertrey Ink March 2013 Blog Hop

Blog-hop-logo
It has been some time since I have even had time to make a card, so it was fun to actually sit down at my craft desk and be creative.  Last week I subbed every day and Saturday was our annual school auction and I was this years chairperson. So happy to say that it was a huge success and that it is over and my life can return to normal.
This month's theme for Papertrey Ink's Blog Hop is sequins. I have some coming in the mail but they have not arrived so I had to find something to use in place of them. I decided to use pinks for my card so that I would be able to use it for more than one challenge...this weeks colors for Dynamic Duos are two shades of pink.

ColourQ Challenge #164

Wow...this has to be one of the most fun color combinations I have seen on ColourQ, not something I would have ever put together but they are just so festive combined.  My sister sent me an email asking me to make a thank you card for the caterers they are using for her work tree trimming party. The theme for the party is gingerbread men and she really wanted me to reflect that in my card.  In my stash I found this adorable little gingerbread lady cookie and gingerbread men cookie cutters to use to embellish my card.  I did not have any paper to represent both the More Mustard or Cajun Craze, so my gingerbread lady cookie is the More Mustard and the stamped images are Cajun Craze.  I felt it needed something to dress it up a bit so I pulled out my fabulous scor tool from Stampin Up and it did the trick.  Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

January 2012 Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

Usually there is a inspiration photo for each month's Blog Hop challenge but this month the inspiration was to go back and find your favorite project and use that as inspiration for a new version of the card.  My favorite project/card from last year was one I made for a monthly challenge I do with some other PTI forum friends called "4 of a Kind".  Each month one of us is the host and sends out kits and we all make at least one card using 4 of the elements. So here is my favorite card from 2011...

Here is my take on a new and inspired version of it...on this card I am using a homemade button made by my friend Joyce from Cards-by-the-Sea...she is so talented and creative. I changed up the color scheme too to make it more of a spring time card and the soft pink button that Joyce made are just perfect for it.

Solid Card Stock: PTI - White, Spring Moss and Sweet blush

4 of a Kind - Beautiful and Elegant

This is our 5th month of doing our 4 of a Kind challenge and Cathy Weber's turn to be hostess...each month one of us sends "kits" to the other three and then we have a few weeks to be creative with all of the supplies and if you are anything like Joyce, your cards will "Self Assemble".  Our challenge group consists of some pretty creative and talented ladies and it is a real honor to be part of this group.

This month's kits were just breath taking beautiful...the color combinations that Cathy Weber choose are just so incredible and such fun to play with.  Cathy included so many wonderful elements to the kit and some I had never used before so that was a real treat.
